This was mentioned here in the past, briefly. This is absolutely a mechanism to violate your rights. And the coding and implementation of this AI stuff is heavily depending on H1B workers, that come from countries that don't have these rights, don't care about them, and damn sure if yours are abridged.

If Publix and Walmart go to this, might just switch to farmers markets and local meat shops. I’ll pay them more for true pricing than having Kroger let poors pay less because they are poor.

I’m wearing a grinch mask to the grocery store. Maybe I’ll get everything for free ??

Surge pricing is increasing due to demand not because of who you are.
What you are describing would be called social credit score pricing.

Sounds like black market shopping will happen. So why not just do it at the register when they provide the card and then a surcharge is applied under some "fee".
This will go over like a turd in a punch bowl. They will have to have some other clever way of doing this .

Yes and surge pricing type setup wouldn’t need ai facial recognition.
We all know liberals like to bend what words mean. Call it surge pricing while using facial technology to adjust the price.
It’s a stupid model but we have a lot of lazy people so the big box groceries can get away with it if they all do it

That is exactly what Kroger has been working on. You walk in dressed a certain way, the price changes. Car a certain type, price changes. Skin color a certain shade, price changes. They are not doing surge pricing alone.

Really looking forward to AI integration into fast food business. I can see it now: Arby’s, now with Arby’s Intelligence.

I don't want to live in this dystopian hellscape AI TechBro world any longer.
Can I get off this ride?

Damn, Kroger you cut me deep. We actually like shopping there. But I'm not paying more than Lupe/Keisha just to save $.10 on a gallon of gas. GFY, Kroger.

Surely Kroger isn’t this dumb… something tells me this is just Gates looking for an “in” with his software and he’s paying Kroger to Beta Test it…

I bet this guy was a Harris voter. Sounds like he wants Government price controls.

Btw is this guy really going on about a letter that Rashida Tlaib sent to Kroger?

A few observations
First, my friend's family had a grocery chain in Ohio and there was a class action lawsuit many many many years ago over a change in pricing it is essentially Fraud. If I pick up an item for one dollar as listed and they charge me $1.50 at checkout that is theft
Second I keep getting emails from Kroger that I unsubscribe to every single day - Not to change the subject but that needs to be addressed the spam emails from selling your information
