Lol. Compared to a confused man on a beer can or a restaurant changing their logo, I'd say the demolition of the east wing is a pretty good reason to get upset.
Back when people were tearing down statues of confederates I saw conservatives losing their shite because history is important. But tearing down part of the Whitehouse apparently doesn't count as history? Funny how that works lol.

30 years ago this guy was considered a great conservative
Now John McCain? In the 80s he was actually seen as a conservative, as was - I kid you not - Ted Turner

Renovating the most useless part of the WH to build a need, one that many admins wanted, is nothing to get your panties in a wad over. Especially when it's not on the taxpayers dime.
You people act like it's a part George Washington built with his bare hands.
This is nothing like what was behind the bringing down of the Confederate statues. Those were brought down due to political hate. The WH being renovated for the better is not.

You support killing people over their views and mutilating children but want to talk about losing the plot? Its remarkable how stupid half the country is

This is such a load of crap. It's a renovation which requires some demolition. You know that, you're just being disingenuous

Not sure why this is tripping yall up. Literally Noone in the republican party was screaming for massive tarrifs til Trump came along.
You’re right.
The GOPe and NeoCons went all in with NAFTA claiming “free trade!” when in reality all of those nations were exploiting the average American via trade restrictions and domestic corporations wait to exploit lower labor costs overseas.
So all the jobs got shifted overseas while the Bill Kristol class kept getting paid by K Street lobbyists who wanted foreign wars and cheap domestic goods.
So Trump comes along and all the sudden Trump voters are cultist socialists for wanting to reindustrialize and not send their kids off to die in some desert so the MIC can launch missiles and Exxon can get a couple oil field contracts.
Now in 2025, Kristol is exposed and humiliated to the point of endorsing a radical communist jihadist and you’re trying to throw him air cover.

Never thought much of this clown. Now I know why. Complete and total fraud.

To be fair the modern day republican party would rip apart basically any republican from the 70s to the 2010's.
The party moved to the left since 2010.
It is now populism, with a twist of conservatism.
That is not what I grew up with.
Relative to the goose-steppers running the other side of the aisle, even this weak branded conservatism looks “far right.”
Tue communazis run the show in the Democratic Party now.
It’s where things currently stand.

Bingo.
Go watch Tucker Carlson from 2005-2010 timeframe compared to now.
Some of these folks, like a Limbaugh and Maddow are/were really committed to their beliefs, whether one agrees with them or not. Then there's the Carlson and Kristol types. Kind of like what James Carville once said about dragging a dollar bill through a trailer park.

Comparing Tuckers political evolution with Bill Kristols is disgusting.

It might not be out of hate. But when you come out and say you aren't touching the Whitehouse then the next week you tear down the east wing people are going to get pissed. If obama did it, the first 100 pages of this forum would be dedicated to it.

Not sure how else to put this.
Reagan imposed serious tarriffs on a single country with a specific goal in mind. He said he did it as an absolute last resort and hated doing it.
Trump imposed wide ranging tarriffs on damn near every country on earth without any specific goal ever announced and without ever considering the affects. He did this so carelessly that we tarriffed an island inhabited by penguins.
Canada used reagans own words. I know that's upsetting for you. I won't even go into what he said on immigration cause I don't want to cause you any more distress.

What about Liz Cheney or Adam Kinzinger? Are they in the, "Anybody but the Republican" camp (meaning Cuomo) or Mamdani as well?

If tariffs are bad when we do it to Canada, why is it good when Canada does it to us?
I'll hang up and listen.

Back in the 90's. Kristol was pretty good. Did outstanding work in fighting Hiillarycare and provided much of the intellectual heft for conservatives to fight it. It's been so long people don't understand what a big deal stopping Hillarycare was.
He started the Weekly Standard and although it was a neocon bent, I enjoyed some of the writers such as Fred Barnes. It was a respectable conservative rag. Not as aggressive as the American Spectator but respectable.
Then after 9/11, things started changing as Bill started moving leftwards. Military adventures etc. Then when Trump won in 2016, it broke him. He and others could not believe this New York Buffoon (their thoughts) became President and took over their sandbox, I mean party. National Review eventually came around and applauds Trump when it thinks he does something right.
However, Kristol went full retard. The Bill Kristol of the 90's would have never backed the nut in New York.

New Yorkers are going to vote this incompetent, amateur, socialist activist as mayor of New York just to “get back at Trump”.
If they want to suffer that bad. I guess it’s their will.

Oh, do you mean the clip of Reagan's speech justifying tariffs against Japan that Canada douchilly presented as anti-tariff?
