Ashli Babbit is a veteran. She was also a mom and a lady who loved her country. But having said that? She should have never busted through that window. But make no mistake, that black officer should have never shot that woman. Tase her if you must, but don't shoot her.
I never rejoice over the killing of someone during a violent confrontation. Especially a woman.
I hope the face of that woman haunts that officer till the moment he dies. But knowing the thugs lurking in halls of our U.S.Capitol that'll never happen. Just like them thugs that killed Tyre Nickols.

Are you talking about McCarthy or Trump? I was referring to McCarthy.

When did it become acceptable to murder people who trespass during a riot?
Is that a new rule that only applies to Jan 6th rioters?

Your Honor, my client shot the victim as she was coming through a window. The window was not opened by capitol police like the barracade and doors. Others who entered through the window were not shot because they were antifa.

someone busting into your home
That's comparing vitamin C to used tampons. This was not his 'home' - there was nobody in immediate jeopardy. There were multiple people in the vicinity of the victim - some were armed policemen closer to the break-in than this thug - the victim presented no immediate threat to anyone requiring instant assassination -
quote:
physical threat to you or your family
would be dispatched as quickly as possible with no regret. Would even 'risk' associated danger to protect my family. This was nothing at al like that.
and beyond all that - had this been a perpetrator shot dead while in the act of cutting the POTUS throat, at least he would have been put on "administrative leave" for a period of time - and would be identified immediately with a statement released to the public - or if not, would have been arrested as being part of the plot.
NOTHING equates to this action except a case were the drunken son of a Sherifff murders a prostitute and the Sheriff finds a way to arrest some other sucker instead.
The shooting of Ashley Babbit was at best, irregular, - most likely, a poor decision, - but possibly part of a planned set-up for political advantage.

Did this just cost McCarthy his speakership?

If you’re just like “frick her because Trump” then I’m not interested in that discussion.
You don’t have to worry about that.
My position basically comes down to this: the security teams had to make a decision because the door was beginning to be breached. A glass pane was broken and being crawled through by Ashli is my understanding. Full disclosure: I have not and will not watch the video as I don’t care so see someone getting killed. So if I have the above wrong please correct me and my position may very well change…
If you’re part of the security detail you cannot possibly know what that person has on them or what their intentions are if they get in there. You have to shoot in this event. This wasn’t a dem hit squad that Hillary sent out. The guy shot to protect every representative in that room, himself and other security members. At least that’s what he should’ve shot for in the moment.

If you’d like to change the rules so police can shoot to kill anyone crossing any sort of property line or barrier (or border), I’m interested in that discussion.
That’s wholly dependent on the situation they find themselves in. As a general rule I don’t want the Wild West with the LEOs having itchy tigger fingers. They have to be more disciplined.

Shot an unarmed woman in the neck at point blank range. F anyone defending that
I’ll take a crack at defending this action.
Most people on this board wouldn’t hesitate to shoot an unarmed (angry) woman at point blank range if she broke into their house.
At the pressure cooker moment that the Capitol was literally being broken into and the doors to the chamber of the House were being breached what officer knew whether any individual in that angry mob was going to harm someone?. I thought the standard for policemen was “if you believe you or someone else is in imminent danger of injury or death” shoot first and ask questions later.
Talk about a double standard. Other officers said they didn’t fire their weapon because they knew they were outnumbered and believed they would be overrun and killed.

She was literally busting through a window/door. Not the ones the feds actually opened up for everyone.
Was she a threat to that police officer? Why was the entire social media of the shooter nuked before they released his name?

It's most curious that JadenX's BLM/Antifa comrades who used fire extinguishers to break the glass haven't made the news with arrests. They let JadenX off too. Curious that.
