I mean no reason to die on this hill when Breyer, although no radical left, still voted liberal vast majority of time.
Why fight this one? I ask that sincerely. What would the benefit be before mid terms?

That's the story I've heard. I see the House flipping this year, but the Senate is going to be tough based on the seats having to run. The only Democrat-held Senate seats I see which could be a flip are Georgia and Arizona. If they flip, then control of the Senate flips as well thus expect Democrats to push as hard as possible to get the nomination pushed through before the change happens in January.
The big question will be when will be Breyer's final day.
