Hopefully someone throws a rock through that garbage “art”.

The artist clearly did it to stoke the flames.

Do they receive federal funds? If so, cut those bastards off.

Yikes. Maybe a sniper at the top of a bell tower has the same philosophy.

Their argument doesn't hold water. Yes, it is protected speech, but Kent State is under no obligation to let it be displayed on their campus. The fact they allow it means they agree with the sentiment (which is no surprise).

Although I think I preferred the jjdoc threads to the Barron reposting Eric Daughtry tweets. jjdoc was much better at OPs.

Both trends are objectively terrible

Now, put up a white sign that simply says trans women aren't women and see how the university reacts.
My natural inclination on freedom of speech issues is to err on the side of speech unless it can be conclusively demonstrated said speech poses a clear and present danger. I lean towards viewing this case along the lines of burning or hanging a politician in effigy, which I've seen many examples of over the years. I doubt the act of simply viewing it could realistically be the catalyst that would cause a person with no previous plans to attempt assassination to suddenly have the idea and conviction to attempt to carry through.

But, you are 100% correct. A sign that stated what you suggest wouldn't last an hour on most campuses, likely including this one. A lot of people in academia, hell, a lot of people in general are huge hypocrites.

The answer, imo, is not to support restricted speech in return, but to continue fighting against their own restrictions of free speech toward their own sacred cows (minorities, homeless, gay, trans, etc...), which actually seems to have been having results when comparing the height of PC thought policing, a few years ago, with today.

Most 'liberals' today are ironically the biggest critics of free speech and the loudest proponents of censorship. I'm not willing to play tit-for-tat with them on destroying one of the cornerstones and founding principles of this country.

Yet DKE posting Kent State shooting messages before their game against LSU is somehow in bad taste.

The ACLU was ready to defend if anything beyond public bitching happened to DKE.

Why do people here keep posting false stories from the gateway pundit? 61% of their stories have been deemed false. I'm as big of a Trump supporter as there is but when you post stuff from this site it makes us look insane.

Could have took two seconds to Google and not looked like a retard. Not only is it real, the loon who made it took it down already.

Y'all go ahead and keep attacking the source though... leftists would never do anything like this, it's all fake news amirite?

Technically, they are both right and wrong.

It was their side that pioneered the idea that the Right was guilty of all “right-wing crime” because our rhetoric sparked it. That rhetoric they were condemning was not calls for violence but simply criticism of politics, like abortion. So Reagan was guilty of the bombing of an abortion clinic because he spoke against abortion. Now the left is explicitly screaming for assassination, vandalism and terrorism. This is what makes them so wrong on this issue.

Can you imagine if someone had put George Floyd’s head on a spike?

Yeah, I think where the “free speech”flags planted, and where invoked are very, very selective.

Even with the update showing Kent State ultimately relenting with regards to the Trump “Art”, in your example, had it been a George Floyd, even the debate would never have seen light of day - it would’ve been a non starter and Kent State would never even entertain permitting.

Again, very selective.

They aren’t “both right” at all. The second half of what you wrote invalidates the first half. Someone swinging their arm through the air loses that right when someone else’s face begins.
