Cute chick. Maybe the pilot thought he had a better chance to score by allowing her to land it.

A female pilot. That means she’s incompetent?
The issue will be would a man with such little experience have been advanced so quickly?
IF a woman can meet the same standards as men to be a pilot, I don't have any problems with that. It's the lowering of standards to admit more women that exposes DEI as a dangerous policy.

She was coming in with a descent rate in excess of that of an F18 carrier landing.
Her descent rate was 1100 feet per minute.
Fighter jets land hard at a descent rate of 600-800 feet per minute on aircraft carriers.
Passenger jets should land 100-200 feet per minute for a smooth landing.
I got that info from an Airforce fighter jet pilot that works from the NSTB that Megyn Kelly interviewed.

Is this confirmed?

And obviously while the fighter jet is designed to land at the type of descent rate, the passenger jet was not.

Oh come on, I heard she passed the pilot test for girls easily.
Q: 'When driving a car, are you allowed to turn right at a red light if there are no cars to your left?'
Her: 'Well, uh, lemme see..I think so. YES!'
Instructor: 'Correct! Here are your wings!'

I guess we can now call her Wheels Up Swanson?

When was the last time a younger American male pilot landed so hard it caused a crash?

No, the female pilot crashing a commercial airliner into the ground, the plane bursting into flames and rolling over means she’s incompetent

I feel for Kendal. But, after a lengthy deliberation I must say I would have to spank her naughty little bottom.

this has to be an all-time self own

Maybe it does.
The last 3 major US airline crashes in the United States have involved female pilots despite them making up around 6% of the airline pilot profession.
2009 - Colgan Air 3407 - 45 fatalities, copilot Rebecca Shaw
2025 -AA 5342 mid air collision with UH-60 Blackhawk piloted Capt. Rebecca Lobach - 67 fatalities
2025 - Delta 4819 hard landing in Toronto piloted by Kendal Swanson. 0 fatalities

Yep. Saw the same one this morning. They rated a landing of 600 feet per minute as a hard landing. She nearly doubled that.
Of course, the cross wind didn't help. The tower did warn that there was some kind of air pocket that was reported by the plane that landed before her.
I think I'd prefer a plane with its engines under the wing since it gives more room for error in such conditions.

IF the pilot is Kendal Swanson, yes. She just got her Airline Transport Pilot certificate last month, and it contains limitations, PROBABLY based on low flight time.
In fairness, I'm not 100% sure why she had limitations, but someone with such a recently issued ATP is not "experienced."

DEI is trying hard to change that.

Uh Delta pilots are most definitely in a union. It's called ALPA. You may be thinking of their flight attendants who are not unionized.

One of their unmanned crews?
