Gay marriage was never voted on in the first place. Just something the courts imposed on us.

Then tell him he has no right to complain is Biden were to win because voting Libertarian is basically pissing away your vote. Gary Johnson could only muster 3% of the vote in 2016 against the 2 most polarizing candidates in history.

I’m a libertarian. I have seen nothing anti-gay marriage from Trump. There has been some anti-trans remarks and policies, but they are mostly designed to avoid giving advantages to trans folks and preventing people using a false “trans” label to avoid prosecution for sex crimes, not denying equality.

When it comes to marriage, the government should have zero role in it. Marriage should confer no advantages nor disadvantages in the eyes of the law. Thus, the law should have no say in whom can or cannot get married.

I will be voting for Trump due to his foreign policy, which has been very Ron Paulish and is bearing real fruit. This will be my first time casting a presidential ballot for a republican

I would be happy to explain any “weeds” in libertarian policy..

If Libertarians care so much about personal freedoms then maybe they should start caring about border security.

Why? He stated it is because Trump is trying to end gay marriage and even though he isn’t gay, he believes it should be legal.

Not to worry. If President Harridan Harris has her way, it'll go ill for all of us. A workers paradise, and not a suburban one, cinder block apartments for us all, nobody will have guns but UN "peacekeepers" and everyone will be poor.

yay socialism!

Open borders are the ideal immigration policy in a libertarian world with no federal entitlement programs, no income taxes, no minimum wage laws, etc, but we do not live in that world. Open borders with a welfare state is a recipe for collapse. We must have hard borders until we can successfully dismantle our welfare state and overhaul our tax system.

Tell them that Trump supported gay marriage before the Clinton's, Obama's and Biden. Go back and look at his interviews/articles from the 80's.

Yeah, I think people mistake libertarians wanting the most qualified foreigners to move to America with wanting open borders. If they can’t support themselves then they shouldn’t be allowed in the country. That’s my philosophy at least.

I'm about 90% libertarian and im voting the frick out of Donald Trump. In a normal election year when the choice is between a deep State Bush or a deep state Clinton I'm voting a Ron Paul everyday and twice on Sunday but Donald Trump isn't your normal candidate.

The Human Rights Campaign and Wiki seems to use the same talking points as to how they come to the conclusion Trump is against gay marriage so let’s start there.

1. They use opinions he expressed as far back as 2000 opposing gay marriage. While also noting his opinion has evolved over time. It’s made clear that he still believes in traditional marriages but understand the Supreme Court has made their decision.

I’ve posted here many times as to why the SCOTUS majority got it wrong in Obergefell despite the fact that I support same sex marriage.

2. He supports 1A Religious Liberties.

3. His VP is Pence.

4. During the campaign he said he would consider nominating a conservative justice that would overturn Obergefell. After he was elected, he reversed course to say that Obergefell is settled law.

5. Every other reason has more to do with the president’s actions on LBGT gender identity protections in government, emphasis on the “T”. None of which has to do with marriage.

Next time I would ask these young Libertarians to speak to actual married gay couples on how they feel about the president. Ask them if they feel that transgender and gender identity issues are on the same level as their ability to get married or stay married and if their support is equally tied to both.

I’ll bet they’ll suddenly realize they’re not on the same page as the very people they claim they’re standing up for.

My issue was adopting kids. Adults are fine to do what they want but poor children are left without a choice.

This notion that Trump is anti LGBTQ....XYZ was pushed by the Gaslight Media in 2016. I knew several progressive millennials that believed Trump was going to overturn gay marriage. I would ask these people where did they get this crap? Then I would tell them Trump’s the only POTUS thus far who was pro Gay marriage. They would say if I would watch some news outlet other than Fox News I would know these things...lol! It’s bizarre but it’s also disturbing that millions of Americans still give any credence to the MSM.

Trump has had 4 years to address that issue if he wanted to. Your libertarian friends think he's gonna take that issue up upon reelection? They sound smart.

I’ve heard the same thing too. I was glad that people who are gay were able to get married. They’re consenting adults for god sake.

I don’t know anybody in real life today who really cares that two people can legally get married regardless of gender. I think we’re past that now.

I would never advocate or give a resounding approval for any marriage outside of traditional marriage but I’m not going to let other people’s sexual preferences be a reason to discriminate against them or not love them as friends or family.
