I dunno. Can you imagine Destroya as mayor?

Anyone who thinks that she was even decent, as a person or governor, is either clueless or received some corruption benefit while she was in office.
My ex has a sweet smile, and act all naive and innocent, but will stab your back repeatedly.

I heard her speak a few times in person so I got to hear the whole speech and not a few sound bites on TV. She said things that made zero sense or were simply false. It was clear she had no clue what she was talking about.

Kathleen “Babeling Blankstare” Blanco was a nonentity. Her husband and his cronies ran the state and the Blankstare would just stare.
W asked her about nationalization of the National Guard and she asked for 24 hours to decide while her state was dying.
Remember right after her election a coworker asked what I thought of her. I said she was a vacant human being, but absent something disastrous, Foster had the state running on autopilot and well.
Those words tasted like shite while I had to eat them!

I will give her credit for one thing, she signed the bill banning smoking in restaurants. I know it really wasn’t her doing, but I will give her credit because She at least signed it andthat is one of the best laws ever passed

I did learn something about what she did in the aftermath of Katrina that got very little press and that was on the logistics end where she got all the busses to the Convention Center. She was personally calling the bus lines and getting coordination along HWY 90 from Lafayette into the NOLA area....even had to threaten the mayor and chief of police in Gretna to not stand in the way at the very least.
I knew some people in Lafayette who knew her, Republicans, who said that she probably was only getting about two hours of sleep a night for about a month and it was fricking with her health. It took a physical toll on her, not to mention an emotional and mental one as well.

She was a nice coonass.... Gave us women a bad name and made us look weak when she cried on TV from the stress of her job.

I got annoyed with her saying several times “we finally elected a Cajun governor”. She may have had the last name but did she forget about edwards?

Avoyelles is only part of Acadiana because we wanted a nice, even number of 22.
21 parishes would have looked weird, but they stick out in the very North.

I remember in the late 90’a she debated someone on TV and I had to watch for high school class. The only thing I remember is she pulled out her freakin duck stamp and showed the camera. All politicians pander but that was about as pathetic as I’ve seen (reminds me of the hot sauce deal with Hillary). That’s when I knew Louisiana was in trouble.
Going into the last gubernatorial debate before the runoff in 2003, she was trailing Bobby something like 53-47 in the polls. Bobby was cleaning her clock in that final debate when, in her closing statement, she played the dead kid card: “As a mother who has lost a son…”
It was a total down by 6, on my own 1/2 yard line with 2 seconds left Hail Mary - but one that flipped that 53-47 over in her favor.

Only thing I remember her doing is handing the Bensons cash to not move the Saints twice. Katrina saved the Saints in NOLA

Whatever happened to her call for "we need a day of prayer" the day after Katrina and as the levee breaks were happening?
