I've seen this ridiculous image. Yosemite is in SoCal, but LA isn't.
That's just political gerrymandering to keep the more conservative parts of the state together. It is NOT geographic, which is how most people understand the layout.

Splitting up Cali into 3 states, wouldn't that give the Democrats 4 more US Senators.
