I don't think the list of people who wanted to be a sacrificial lamb was very long.

All the real candidates are waiting for 2028 when the DEMs are likely to be favored

Good point, can any of you guys blame the Democrats for ditching Biden? You all know how terrible he is. If the tables were turned Republicans would do the same thing.

Why didn't they dump him before the primaries so the people could choose?

Do you remember how hard the Republican party fought against Trump in 2016? The people wanted him, but the party leaders did not. We forced our party to accept him, while your party is forcing you to accept her

The difference between what happened with Trump and this is that they knew Biden was incapable of performing the duties of president long before the primaries. They purposely obfuscated the truth from their voters so they could install the candidate. It’s just laughable from the party always crying about “defending democracy”.

Obama probably feels that some competition albeit non primary is better than no competition

And she raised over $60 million in one day, primarily from small money donors.

I don't understand any of this. Two candidates who I will not vote for under any circumstances, and people are actually excited about them.

I won't believe Dems roll with Harris until it happens. She's more unelectable than Biden.

You are calling the shots for the DNC.

Your entire platform is built around intersectional politics and you have a healthy sitting black female VP desperate to get the nod. She did all the right things. Stayed supportive until told not to, etc.

You also have $130M in donations sitting in a bank account that goes back to donors unless she gets the pick.

Your alternatives are a bunch of governors who are either lightning rods for progressive policies (Newsom) or are complete unknowns at the national level (Whitmer, Shapiro, Pritzker).

To unlock any of them you have to force out a black woman at a time when your party is polling at historically low levels with black men to begin with and give up the $130M.

All of them are trailing Trump significantly based on your internal polling and in many cases doing even worse than Biden was in all the swing states.

The numbers are so bad that its likely it will impact down ballot races in Congress to the point that Trump, a man you have persecuted politically, legally and who might believe you just tried to kill will have the USSC, Congress and the WH without needing to worry about running for re-election.

To win you have to flip the entire upper midwest, plus NV and AZ knowing that GA, FL, and NC are completely off the table this cycle.

What move do you make?

I don't think they have the juice to force Biden and Harris out at the same time because there is no universal support for any of the alternatives among the donors and Soros tier shot callers and there would be an opportunity cost of $130M to do so when they all know they would have to spend additional unprecedented amounts of money to simultaneously publicize an unknown candidate nationally while overcoming significant polling deficits.

This whole thing was a colossal miscalculation by Biden's and Democrat establishment. I think Obama always sort of knew what was going on. He's not a stupid man.

If they roll with her, it was the same reason they went with Biden. They know they can control her just like they did with Biden. A Harris Administration would be the same as Biden's. President in name only.

No, it's the easiest transition that will encounter the least amount of pushback. If they pushed anyone else, there would be a highly contested convention. They don't want that.

Im neither party to be honest. But let’s say Trump was unable to run for one reason or another, would Vance not be the option? I’m pretty sure the Trump team (esp DJT Jr) would try to have that locked up by the time Trump would announce he’s out…It’s just politics. Dems aren’t excited about any candidate like Republicans are about Trump, they weren’t even that excited about Biden to begin with. Right now, it’s about trying to keep Trump out of office in their minds.
