That was always clear. Walz was who they could get. The candidates who may have impacted the electoral math, like Shapiro, were in a lose/lose situation. If Harris won they would be on the shelf for 4 or 8!years, in the far more likely even that Harris lost you have the stain of being on the losing ticket.
