School boards all across the nation are now trying to force a mask mandate up on all public school children. I am against this mandate but I am not sure what I can do.

I dont want to take my kids out of school but what are the other options? How are you all handling this situation. Im trying to be a good example for my children but this is unprecedented.

Unfortunately I don’t think this is the hill that we’re going to make our stand on. Maybe the hill will be mandatory vaccine cards to buy gas or groceries or to have a job or to have a checking account or credit card or Venmo. Sadly, this scenario no longer sounds crazy

I never said that, just wondering how others are handling the mandate.

Calmly explain the situation to the child and that their health is in our best interest.

At this point you have very few. See if you can form some sort of cohort with other like-minded parents and go from there. There’s power in numbers.

My (young) niece drew a self-portrait of herself last week. In the drawing, she was wearing a mask. My sister & BIL decided at that point they were done.

They’re unsure where they’ll go from here or what they’ll do; but they know they’re not sending her back.

Globally, we’re about to see a total revolution in the education system. How we educate our children 10 years from now will look nothing like the methods and modalities of today.

I wish you the best!

I care about the health of my child first because thats all I can control. Wearing a mask for 8 hours a day will damage their body and mind.

Try that with the pre-kindergarteners in public school.
Nightmare.

It depends on the leadership of the parent.

Common sense doesn't suggest young kids wear a mask in school.

How can you be a functioning adult and not understand this?

Our school system’s policy on masks is “optional but strongly encouraged.” My wife got a group text from my child’s K teacher last night saying kids were going to have to start wearing masks in her classroom. She’s a jewel of a lady and probably the best K teacher in our county but I can’t let her do that.

Teachers waste time reminding kids to mask throughout the day and the kids, especially younger one's lose mask throughout the day

We'll have to ride it out until next year's election; but not quietly. Belittle and degrade those who hold power and make stupid mandates; build networks of people who agree and take a public stance with their criticism. Shame and humiliate mindless autocrats with loud conversations in public. The contempt and social pressure will build on all who try to remain on the anti-science, authoritarian boat. The Red Wave and outrage is building; there will be NO Steal next year...without major and violent backlash. If the Cities pull that crap again, what happens after that will be on them...when the lights go out.

Massive immigration and crime will be enough to push Congress far Right. Not to mention the Islamist terrorists who will get a free pass into our communities and a monthly government check to boot.

A year or two of 'education' won't mean a lot in regard to what will face these children, and the parents. It is far bigger than masks. We are approaching a streetfight for survival. The kids will have to be tough to make it through. The easy days are over.

If you live in an area that has mask mandates for children and if you think it's horse shite, then move.

I'm serious. You are willingly paying taxes to a school district that is making your kids do something against your will.

If you choose to do nothing but bitch on social media then you will just continue to bend to anything and are part of the problem.

Paris (TX) ISD voted to make it apart of the dress code to get around Abbotts mandate.

They'll "review" it monthly to see if still "needed or not."
