If you don’t live here, STFU.

Apparently that’s not correct.

Except that it was a false statement. Also, the taxpayers aren't on the hook for the $53 million; the donors are. SW didn't give Jimbo the extension on his contract; his replacement did.
Going forward, it takes a great AD to find the donors to keep the football program growing and chugging along. Woodward found donors to fire Kelly and pony up the dollars. Will his replacement take the baton and not miss a step? Or, will he have to start making calls and knocking on doors? Landry has single-handedly destroyed any chance of us getting the best head coach from coming here.

State dollars don't pay the coaches salary or buyout. Landry is ignorant and obviously not very bright making such a public statement.
IF LSU wants to hire a big name coach, they will have to offer a similar contract, or roll the dice and hire a successful coach from a smaller school, or someone coaching at the professional level. The latter 2 options would be the cheaper route.

Starting to be concerned that all of this is a distraction from the LSU President search and LSU will end up going with the former president from Arizona (who almost bankrupt the university because "A miscalculation of the amount of cash the school had on hand led to a $177 million deficit") which led to hiring freezes, budget cuts, and layoffs.
He could be Landry's hatchet man and a disposable scapegoat to gut the LSU system.
Still seems like Rousse is the likely choice, but of the 3 finalists, Dalton who is currently the VP and Provost at Alabama would be the safest choice.

What kind of sweetheart, brother-in-law, and other deals do these athletic directors get out of the coaching contracts?
I remember when Coach O was a mere interim head coach, with no other good schools gunning for him, begging for the LSU job. Yet he got a $16,000,000:golden parachute clause if he underperformed (ie, sucked), to say nothing of the high yearly salary if he stayed.
Why would an AD make such a horrible deal? This is where people need to look for the conflicts of interest. Not the sports agents who are making their clients wealthy as frick.

If tweet fails to load, click here. I hope that he is telling the truth. However, I am skeptical AF. Of course whether he is involved or he is not involved in the search people will think the governor hired the next coach.

"I'm not picking the next coach at LSU" ... but...
"As Governor, it is my responsibility to protect hard earned tax dollars our citizens pay to the state."
So, you are involved in picking the next coach at LSU then.

So I have never really watched any interviews or press conferences with him being that I have been living Texas. I just saw the press conference with him talking about LSU coaching search and the AD.
Holy hell, beyond embarrassing that this guy is the Governor of the state. He is right up there with JBE for embarrassment.
Well get ready. He's doubling down. He's on Pat McAfee's national sports show right at this very second spewing more nonsense.

I’m conservative and Republican but he really needs to sit tf down on this one. A college football coach’s pay that is funded completely by donors is NONE OF HIS CONCERN.
He picks the BOS, that’s all.
Woodward is a damn fine AD, how did he know Kelly was going to be a total flake and give up?
