Should it be?

Good luck crawling over all the bodies in the street to get into the bank to deposit your check.

Funny that Chuckie Schumer specifically called out ATT on the floor last night during his hissy fit. He said ATT would simply use these tax cuts for stock buy backs and CEO incentives.

FIFY. Sorry.

Bonuses are subject to a flat 25% withhold on Federal tax. Plus 7.65% for Social Security and Medicare (unless you're an OT baller then maybe only 1.45% for Medicare which has no income cap).

Then if you live in a state with an income tax it gets worse.

Hope you haven't already bought the hookers and blow.

They're not that kind.

ATT pays the bonus in 2017 to write it off as an expense under current tax law. If you're going to pay out $1k per employee regardless, doing it in 2017 cost less to your bottom line than doing it in 2018.

By no means is this a criticism of ATT - they don't have to pay it out at all - just pointing out their logic.

As these stories spread across the country and people start seeing the money, this bill is going to get super popular fast.

Something tells me a bunch of AT&T employees all the sudden are glad Trump got elected.

Make no mistake, they'll do a lot of that too.

What a week for AT&T - they get net neutrality repealed and lower corporate taxes. I hate the net neutrality repeal, but no argument that it's fantastic for AT&T.

Pretty shitty. That money could have made a real impact. Those employees will just spend it on themselves.

Probably so, I know a lot of them are union rank and file and were all in for Hilldawg or Bernie, lol!

Now they’re forever Trumpers.

I work for a fortune 500 company too, and I'm sure the upper management just have themselves even bigger bonuses. Nothing to do with Trump or the tax cut, my company is just evil
