Welcome to democrat's America. They cannot ban fossil fuel powered cars and likely will not be able to pass a carbon tax or cap and trade system like they want. So they are going to use higher gas prices to make ppl buy electric cars because it becomes cheaper to have an electric car when gas gets around $3.50 per gallon. They do not care if you live in Florida and Florida gets hit by hurricanes and you might have to evacuate and/or go weeks without electricity after a storm which makes having an electric car less than ideal.

Remember, the 2008 economic meltdown happened in part because of very high gas prices. A lot of people ignore that but, it’s true.
No it’s not. Prices shot back up and higher right after.

ETA. Who downvote higher gas prices being reported? Wow
Gas is up an average of $.26 per gallon across the country over the last 9 weeks.
While Crude Oil is still slightly lower than it was 12 months ago...it is up significantly since it's huge dip in late April.
Gasoline demand is continuing to rise and is only slightly below where it was 12 months ago.
You can see how the prices of gas have risen since the April dip and started to rise again in the November timeframe.

There's nothing in Biden's current energy policy that is affecting the prices you see today.
