Just a reminder that This land is our land was written by an avowed communist.

That's very fitting because this country is being transformed into a monster based on communist lies.

And the Pledge of Allegiance was written by a socialist.

And the Pledge of Allegiance was a socialists creation. Everything you've been taught about this country is a lie.

I assume that Thomas Jefferson would have hated the pledge.

Guthrie's biography is interesting. He seldom bathed.

The lyrics literally spell out what’s yours is mine.

It’s like learning that Ring around a Rosy was written about people that were dying of the Black Plague.

Not only does it stand for the idea that government should be worshipped, but it's a violation of the first commandment.

That term "allegiance" has always rubbed me the wrong way. Its very essence screams "Don't do as I do, do as I say do!" Very Stalinesqe in nature. And one other thing, the phrase "under God" was dropped in there, later on, to make it more palatable to the vast majority of Americans.
Lastly, when I think of Woody Guthrie's boy, Arlo, I am reminded of all the boys and girls from upper-middle-class to very wealthy families that I went to St. John's College with, many of whom were from the Boston area, that bought their clothes from goodwill and pretended to be poor. I spect Elisabeth Warren is this type too. After all, she's originally from Oklahoma just like the Guthries, and also, she wound up in Boston pretending to be someone she's not, just like Arlo. Birds of a feather flock together I guess.

He also wrote songs about Californians oppressing Oklahomans who migrated from the Dust Bowl if that eases your conscience.
