Judge rules against moving FBI headquarters; Maryland site must stand

They've been fighting over this for close to 2 decades.

I don’t know anything about this, but it seems like a non-story just based on the information provided in the post.

Congress allocated funds to build in maryland
trump I assume wanted to save the money or keep FBi in Dc said he would move them into the Raegan buildings
Maryland said you can’t do that without congress’s permission. This is good for our local economy so we want it to happen.
Judge said the President can’t go against a project approved by congress.
I think that’s it

The Trump administrations way costs nothing for the building.
Congress Critters legislated monies to the Maryland expensive headquarters in 2022. They are pissed as many perks favors and kickbacks already promised for Maryland.
So an Obama judge ruled in favor of the congress critters. The house always wins and its a big club and Trump ain't in it.

Why does the FBI need to be in Washington? Move them to St Louis where the rents are cheaper. They can still have a DC presence for intelligence. While they’re at it move the Dept of the Interior to Salt Lake City where all the National Parks are.

He was right to halt the project and I don’t expect they’ll break ground as long as a republican is in the WH. Maryland was picked to give the people of PG county money. It was the worst option available. Everyone wanted Springfield, VA except for democratic leadership. The selection was rigged and it’s been admitted. Curious to see how this one plays out.

It’s crazy to think a federal district judge can tell the President of the United States he cannot decide where to put the FBI headquarters. He is the CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER of the country. It’s literally his job to make these decisions.
