This 'investigation' is the most obscene act of deep state attempts at criminalizing politics (conservative only) I could imagine without actually being in a tyranny.

A lot of people need to go to prison over this - and hundreds of people need to be weeded out of public service.

Gates has a real hard time remembering things that he told the special council and the various points the special council caught him in a lie.

And your point is? He was charged for it.

Manafort signed the returns. By doing so, Manafort aceepts the responsibility for verification of accurate reporting.

Sounds to me like Manafort’s defense team should have went after the CPA more vigorously. Why didn’t they?

“I understand how frustrated you are,” Ellis told Greg Andres, a member of the prosecutorial team. “In fact, there’s tears in your eyes right now,’’ Bloomberg reported, citing a trial transcript. Andres said he wasn’t crying, to which Ellis responded: “Well, they’re watery.”

CNN moves the Manafort from top story, where it’s been all day, to 6th story and say nothing about the judges comments this afternoon

So did Fox News. It seems everyone is focused on election coverage. I bet the trial gets more exposure soon.

Lol.

You’d be well served to let this trial play out before predicting a result. I’ve seen too many unpredictable results in jury trials over the years to make assumptions based on judges’ comments and midway evidentiary rulings.

I take it you didn’t read the testimony. Gates literally is struggling with recalling what he told the special council during his interviews, in which the defense has transcripts of. Defense asks about something that Gates “covered” with the prosecution and now he cannot recall or when he gets pinned down he flip flops back and forth.

He is screwing up restating his own interviews with the SC, ones that he should have been constantly prepped over. That doesn’t seem incredibly strange to you?

Combine that with Gates has nothing to corroborate his testimony that Manafort had him do this. No emails, no text messages, nothing to back up his side of the story.

Right now his testimony makes him look like a scam artist trying to get the best deal for himself. That may or may not also mean he is lying, but it will definitely impact his credibility. Too bad that there are no first hand accounts of the jury during his testimony.

If Manafort was signing documents that were untrue because Gates unkownly manipulated the process, then why hammer the CPA? Intent is required..

I still think Manafort is dirty, but Gates just allowed in a ton of reasonable doubt .

Still thinking hung jury or Manafort gets convicted on the least of charges, but Gates does not seem to be very persuasive and has done more to help the defense than to help the prosecution.

The case is still going on. Today a mortgage loan officer testified that Manafort lied on a mortgage application.

Still waiting for that dismissal?
