Probably means it went 5-4 with complete siding with Mississippi, not some bastardization.

Bad news for baby killers.

Blaming Trump and/or Elon for the upcoming death of millions of women "who now have to get abortions in alleys" in 3... 2...

There's no fricking way anyone knows this unless the opinion is release.

The only way would be a justice level leak or a clerk leak which would be the most likely avenue--assuming even remotely true.

This would also mean that if Thomas is in the majority, the opinion would be at his option as the most senior justice in the majority.

Can’t 100% know but you can read the tea leaves and get an idea of the direction things are going.

We don't "know" but SCOTUS watchers all agree that generally the court spreads work evenly by each "sitting". December's sitting had 9 cases, so each justice gets 1 opinion. Roberts just dropped a December opinion. [This isn't a rule just habit that they can break for any reason]

To me there is still too much speculation both on whether Roberts could still author the decision and the meaning if he does not

I would add it to a pile of other circumstantial, possibly good news, but I wouldn't get too far ahead.

We have over a month to prepare for the greatest melt of all time.

Absent a leak (and SCOTUS is typically more secure than a SCIF), this is nothing more than speculation.

Those idiots on twitter still think all of this is about women’s rights. What a bunch of morons. Abortion started and still is about population control and eugenics. It’s never changed

TBH I don't love this.

It is going to be a galvanizing issue for the left in the midterms and next election. I want to give them as little as possible to work with.

The reduction in deaths of the unborn is worth any political cost and or amount of mean tweets by orange men.

By way of example, if the left were enthusiasts of throwing people in front of subway trains instead of infanticide, no one would argue that we shouldn't stop the throwing of innocent people in front of trains because the left will be upset. The Unborn always get the shortend of the stick because they don't vote. Even inmates have better advocates than the unborn.

ETA: Also, the right has been supporting republicans for decades for just this fight. Look at exit polls, SCOTUS is consistently cited as reasons the base votes Republican. If the base finally sees results, it will galvanize the right. It also represents yet another Trump promise fulfilled.

Overturning Roe is so far beyond short term political fallout that it's not even worth mentioning

It definitely would seem to increase the odds it gets struck down. 2022 could go down as a legendary year for sheer volume of melt, between Musk buying Twitter, DeSantis's constant dunking exhibition, and this. The midterms bloodbath will only be a cherry on top.

And he absolutely would write it. Others speculate ACB and that might happen, if so he will still have a concurring opinion (he does on a lot of cases).

The DC tPTB often float "someone-knows-something" rumors like this.

I'm hardly alone in my opinion of the matter, but NO medium-large SCOTUS opinion decision affecting agenda in DC is any surprise.

If we don't already realize this by now, the DC-Machine (including obviously SCOTUS) is a totally rigged, pre-ordained controlled enterprise. NOTHING is going off-script or out of the hands of tGlobalist Imperial PTB unless its purely by design.
