This is the response I received when I contacted John Kennedy about supporting Rick Scott for Majority Leader:

quote:

Dear Mr. XXXXXXXXXX:

Thank you for messaging me about the state of U.S. Senate leadership. I appreciate hearing from you on this important matter.

Recently, Senator Mitch McConnell announced that he will be stepping down from his position as Republican leader of the Senate at the end of 2024. Senator McConnell has served the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the Senate since 1985. Furthermore, he has served as the Senate Republican leader since 2007.

Senator McConnell’s decision to step away from his position means that Senate Republicans must select a new leader. With the United States facing sky-high inflation and an overwhelmed southern border, that leader must be a strong conservative. I assure you that I will work with my colleagues to select a Senate Republican leader who fits that bill.

Again, thank you for your message. Please do not hesitate to reach out about other issues that are important to you and your loved ones.

Same bullshite response I received back when he voted to continue to fund Ukraine earlier in the year. He's been dead to me since completely ignoring his constituents.

When I was on the hill forever ago we had these convoluted drop down systems for having interns and staffers respond to letters and emails

Like you'd pick "environmental" then "EPA regulation" then CERCLA and it would spit out a form for you to very liightly edit before it goes out

I don't think much has changed, except that it's probably less labor intensive

Yea that’s a lot of words to tell you to frick off.

The fakes in politics are out of hand. We need term limits two terms as president, two terms in senate and two terms in Congress

Same here. It's beyond time for a change in representation for the people of Louisiana. Cassidy must geaux in 2026 and Kennedy is next if he continues to vote against the will of his constituents.

Someone needs to provide a legitimate challenge to both of them.

Humor is Kennedy's only redeeming quality. Unfortunately that's not what he should be paid for.

Yes, I just received the same canned response. I am holding out hope he will do the right thing.
Haven't heard from Cassidy as of this morning.

At least you got a response. My email wasn't very civil. I'll probably get a door knock

You should respond to the email and thank him for confirming he will be voting for Scott.

Automated version of what I'd call a "thank you for your interest in National Defense" reply letter!

AI will eliminate the need for Interns, from the looks of that response.

I think we can start to expect a lot of AI responses from our elected officials.

I've emailed Kennedy and Cassidy several times since Sunday and haven't received any response!
Smh
I've emailed in the past always received a reply similar to urs. Blah blah blah, just an automated reply.
I don't believe they read any emails, but I think one of his aides does and tracks the sentiment.

Based on his vote so far he is being deceitful in that response.
