I've been getting calls from a polling firm for a week or so. I finally decided to answer the phone last night just to see who was polling. It was all about whether I tend to vote for party affiliation or a particular candidate regardless of party. Then all these questions about JBE and my opinion of his job performance. They read off all his "accomplishments" and if I was aware of them. I trashed him as much as I could . The negative ads against Abraham and Rispone and the troll posters claiming he is a shoe in without needing a run-off tells me all I need to know. JBE is worried.

I will say this about them.

I'm not happy at all how they've completely stayed on the sidelines this time around.

Waiting until the runoff is a chickenshit move. You don't have to endorse one of the GOP candidates but you could at least take JBE to the woodshed and point out how terrible he's been for Louisiana.

Kennedy was getting some pretty good hits in on him last year while he was considering running for Governor then stopped once he decided not to.

Well, two can play that game and I've been told by someone high up there as well that Trump is definitely coming to town to do a rally for the GOP candidate. It's a tad bit tentative being two months out but it's more 90% more likely than not.

It just makes sense. It's an off year and this is a race the GOP wants headed into 2020. Trump isn't going to choose one GOPer over the other, but he's going to bat for the person in the runoff.

If it's Doc, Trump is going to promote based on the good things Doc has done in Congress and how we need that solid conservative leadership in LA.

If it's Rispone, Trump is going talk about how he's a successful businessman and a political outsider, and so is Rispone, and Rispone can use that edge in LA like Trump is in DC.

quote:

That's going to be another wrinkle for JBE to try and figure out how to water down any Trump boost for the GOP candidate.

And this, my fellow poster, is where JBE is going to die in the quicksand.

I don't think JBE is truly as liberal as you think he is. I do think he is more of a moderate Dem (especially compared to how far left the party is moving).

Recently he talked about how Trump came through with money for a new bridge in Lake Chuck.

JBE hasn't been banging on Trump. Rather, he's been somewhat muted to complimentary regarding Trump.

Many of the dems in the state are already pissed off at him for signing the abortion bill. Hearing him say nice things (even if true) about Trump, is going to send the left over the edge.

JBE can't win from the left. He has to win from the left-center. But, when Trump comes in and destroys him, JBE is going to have to run back to the left, where he's not comfortable at all.

He's going to get caught between the right who don't like him, the moderates who don't like what the state has become under him, and the left who doesn't trust him.

If Rispone and Doc can just keep from saying/doing something stupid and get JBE into a runoff, the walls are going to close in on JBE.

It's kind of a risk. Politically, they don't want to end up on the wrong side of Doc vs Rispone. But if they don't help, they might end up with more JBE.

They don't have to endorse either GOP candidate. They could be laying the hammer down on JBE while Doc and Rispone are busy marketing themselves to voters. That should be a team effort right now and it's absolutely inexplicable why it's not.

There is such a thing as an anti-endorsement you know? Doesn't piss off Doc and Rispone and still achieves its desired goal.

Just checked PredictIt.org. They're selling "Which party will win the 2019 Louisiana gubernatorial race?" at $0.65 Democrat and $0.35 Republican. Still early but interesting that the money is going 2-1 in favor of JBE. Again, not wishcasting on my part. I hope they're all wrong and JBE is a 1-term wonder.

A Trump rally would do a lot to turn the tide in favor of the Republican nominee

You sir are an ungrateful flea looking down on the dog who’s lifeblood you’re sucking. Parasite.
Regardless. JBE is a dead man walking! Hopefully the next GOP governor will put a flea collar on Louisiana’s neck!

I think it is clear he will win the Louisiana Governor election.

After being the only state showing job losses under the Trump presidency?

And who funds those state workers you unappreciative tick?

Yes, take pride that you and your fellow bureaucrats are financially drying the state with our tax dollars. Gotta keep that 50th ranking going!
