Actually my dad does this with my kids and my wife's kid, but the difference is we don't do it in public. I think family intimacy like that is fine but it's not appropriate for public spaces.

I've seen it, I've had older relatives who did it.
It weirds me out when it's done to me, but there really is no issue with an old dude kissing his granddaughter on the lips.
Side note: I had a buddy in college, and his girl would kiss basically everyone on the lips every time she greeted them, myself included. That was weird as hell. They're married now, so surprisingly, it wasn't what you would have thought.

Everyone in my family gives a little peck on the lips to opposite-sex family members.

We are not exactly sure who his father is and he comes from a troubled history but accept him along with the girls. Not every family is the same and people have their demons, but every family can share love, teach in the word of Christ, and strive to be better people on this world.

Coupled with all of the other boundary issues Biden has, this gives me pause. I wouldn't find it weird for any typical granddad to do this though, so I feel like I have to give him a pass on this one.

We also let the little girl cousins and the little boy cousins kiss when they are just toddlers. Same as when I was a kid. My grandmother even used to keep a framed picture of me kissing one of my cousins on a shelf as a bit of a joke. They're just toddlers, they aren't fornicating. Honestly I think it reduces the stigma of kissing and takes a lot of pressure off of young love when they do explore romantic relationships as young men. Repressing the natural love (whether platonic or romantic) inherent in kissing is what leads to kids breaking abstinence, living together before marriage, and teen pregnancy.
