Which is wholly unconstitutional.
I don't think so. Article I Section 2 only says "The House of Representatives shall choose their Speaker and other officers." It says nothing about the Speakers role, how the Speaker is chosen, anything. It's very ambiguous so I think a valid argument can be made that expanding the Interim Speakers powers functionally makes him the Speaker and jives with Article I Section 2.

Still don’t understand the problem with Scalise. The only thing I’ve seen here is muh swamp. Pretty sure he even stuck to his guns on refusing to state the 2020 election wasn’t jacked up.

At least this fiasco has shined a light on who the enemies of the people are.
The enemies of the people are the Democrats... you know them... they are the ones that worked with the 8 to get McCarthy removed.

And many here applauded it. These people are doing the work of leftists
It was the correct move and I fully support it.

Jordan's team had said they intended to keep going with a third vote, with supporters optimistic that he could gain support. However, there had also been other potential candidates emerging from the wings amid the stalemate.

My wholly speculative and uninformed list of possibilities:
Byron Donalds
Thomas Massie
Elise Stefanik
Lee Zeldin

Why are you pearl clutching over this deal so hard?
What do you really think is worse because of any of it?
Some people are trying to shake up/upend the status quo of shite. You don't strike me as someone who loves the status quo. It's not always going to "work" perfectly. So fricking what?
What in your world or mine really would have been better had they NOT done any of this and just left McCarthy merrily in place? Seems like squat to me. Stop buying into ridiculous concocted narratives that such stuff is so terrible. It's not for anyone or anything.

Trump alone can fix this

What's Poli's problem with McHenry? The guy was based AF a few weeks ago when he evicted Pelosi while she was attending a funeral.
How can these guys listen to their constituents when those same constituents have to be told what they want?

I think he saying
You don't want me, okay, I'm out...
I have no issue with it- hardly deep state...
I'd be pissed if colleagues were voting for McCarthy who just stepped down

This is why you don't oust the speaker of your own party like that. This whole thing is so stupid. Said that from day one when everyone was acting like getting rid of McCarthy was some massive victory
