And many here applauded it. These people are doing the work of leftists
Yeah, because letting McCarthy, who is known as Pelosi Light, isn't or wasn't doing the work of the leftists.

So it was swampers that voted against Jordan, I suspect they will push McCarthy to come back. He will then not agree to any of the conditions or at least carve out some of them.
Doesn't make sense why GOP wouldn't end this and get behind Jordan. It is a self interest thing that keeps them from doing it.

That's just one reason why it's the right move.

It is not supported in House rules. Even if it was, McHenry is not the guy most would want replacing McCarthy
You mean the rules the house can change whenever they want? What does that have to do with the constitution?
Posted on 10/19/23 at 11:48 am to DisplacedBuckeye
Just pointing out that it's not gonna happen.

Good, no more money for wars.

Of course it isn't going to happen. This country is run by idiots.

The scum that currently rule our country have nothing in common with the people that started our country.

Saw this coming.
Dipshits never had a plan.
The 20 or so big E hold-outs got their phones ringing FOR Jordan: But care about their slush funds and power-as they bend over for the chamber of commerce and don't give two-shits about the people.
NeoCons win with their strangle hold of power. frick neocons. Rmnldr Ronbot called Tucker Carlson a grifter in another thread.
Frick all of you establishment loving neocons perking your lips like Romney constipated. The only true moderates are the ones who are calling out the R's and the D's.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) will tell members of the House Republican Conference that he will not hold a third ballot and instead will back expanding the powers of Speaker Pro Tempore Patrick McHenry (R-NC) so the House can get back to regular order.
Jordan will announce he plans to stay on as speaker designate and that he supports expanding McHenry's powers through January, according to two GOP sources.

Stop there.
Who was ready to replace him?
No one is saying McCarthy was a great leader, but in football don't get rid of your quarterback for throwing an interception if you don't have any backups.

What, you think this is constitutional? You probably think that votes cast in the 2020 election when the state legislatures didn’t amend their voting procedure still count too.

Please, God, let this happen. It won't but having the most conservative member of the GOP be Speaker?

What, you think this is constitutional?
How is it not? I've already posted the only mention of the Speaker in the entire Constitution. It literally only says that the house shall choose their speaker and other officers. That's it.
