The F.B.I. Richmond field office wanted investigate Catholics.
Supposedly it never happened but there is a memo and the purpose was pure politics.

Agreed. When’s the last time (if ever) you saw anyone in front of Congress get “ripped a new cornhole,” followed up by, “and was promptly arrested/let go/relieved of duty?”

The legislative branch doesn't have the authority to do anything in this context other than hold hearings
I understand your point about the political theater and some congressmen definitely make a career out of it
I still think it's an important function they serve. Otherwise, there is zero transparency at all.

It’s unfortunate but our current system doesn’t really give Jordan any power other than to bluster at these clowns. There’s little statutory power for him especially when the media doesn’t rattle the cages of public opinion
