Liberal media outlets have suggested Emhoff appeals to a less masculine male voter

quote:

Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff has "reshaped the perception of masculinity" with his support for Vice President Kamala Harris, MSNBC host Jen Psaki suggested Sunday.

"There is also an important, interesting part about how people have talked about your role is how your role has reshaped the perception of masculinity," Psaki remarked with a slight laugh. "I’m not sure you planned on that, but you are an incredibly supportive spouse. Has that been an evolution for you? Do you think that’s part of the role you might play as First Gentleman?"

"It’s funny. I’ve started to think a lot about this. I’ve always been like this. My dad’s always been like this. To me, it’s the right thing to do, support women. It is mutual with Kamala and I. We support each other, we have each other’s back," Emhoff said.

He added, "I’ve said many times when we lift up women, we support women whether it’s pay equity, childcare, family leave, and all of these issues in this post-Dobbs hellscape. Women should not be less than. Women should not have less rights and be treated differently. That’s not the American way."

Psaki continued, "There is a pop-culture phrase, ‘wife guy,’ which you’ve kind of been known as. Are you familiar with this?"

"I have heard about it," Emhoff said.

"A ‘wife guy,’ a ‘proud wife guy.’ How do you feel about it?" she asked.

Emhoff joked, "If I do something annoying to Kamala, and she gets upset, I’ll just show her that article."

Various media outlets and commentators have painted Emhoff and Harris' running mate Gov. Tim Walz to be different examples of masculinity to combat former President Trump’s hold on the male vote. A Washington Post columnist went as far as to refer to Emhoff as a "progressive sex symbol."

quote:

"But they are doing so in trying to put forward male figures, Tim Walz being one of them, Doug Emhoff last night, who can speak to men out there who might not be the sort of testosterone-laden, y’know, gun-toting kind of guy who wants to listen to Hulk Hogan and the kind of players that came out at the RNC or might want to listen to that," she said.

At least they finally admit leftist men are lacking testosterone and are prone to being a sissy

He was just supporting his babysitter who was in need by cheating on his wife. He is a considerate and supporting man.

On “Positive Masculinity”

Does Tim Walz represent a new “enlightened archetype” of men?

Newsweek published “Tim Walz, the Kelce Brothers and a New Era of ‘Positive Masculinity’”:

Many know the term “toxic masculinity” and think of the overly dominant, often aggressive personality that shapes the discourse… But now, it seems as though we’re headed toward a softer kind of masculinity, with politicians talking about fertility, football players dancing to Taylor Swift and a renowned Paralympic athlete cheering on his wife as she won Olympic gold.

[Positive masculinity] is thought to have been co-created in the early 2000s by Matt Englar-Carlson, founder and director of the Center for Boys and Men at California State University, Fullerton. He told Newsweek that the idea “creates space to realize that there’s multiple ways to be a man.”

I looked up Englar-Carlson and found him speaking in a webinar called “Introducing Positive Masculinity.” It was led by Dr. Ray Swann, host of something called, no kidding, the Understanding Boys podcast. Take down those Scarface posters; here’s your introduction to the new masculine ideal:

quote:

The idea that Harris-Walz is a home for a new “positive” or “healthy” masculinity is everywhere. “Tim Walz, Doug Emhoff, and the Nice Men of the Left,” is the inevitable Rebecca Traister headline in New York. In The Bulwark, Mona Charen’s The Man Child vs. the Man’s Man asserts the Harris candidacy is “honoring the positive side of masculinity,” while the Washington Post hails Walz as “America’s Dad,” the man you want under the hood when “Masculinity’s check-engine light” goes on. Author Monica Hesse exults that Walz represents “tonic masculinity,” a “Confident. Decent” man who’s been seen “gleefully holding a piglet at a fair,” but who once can also imagine “wearing a headlamp up in the attic fixing some old wiring.” Quoting a meme:

Tim Walz beeps at you at a red light, motions for you to put your window down, and tells you that your right rear tire could use some air.

No man with a spine would go near the term “positive masculinity,” since it implies there’s something wrong with masculinity. A woman who agreed to bask in cheers of men calling her an example of “positive femininity” would rightly be viewed as pitiable if not an outright traitor to her sex by other women. While the spectacle of Walz fawned over by a gaggle of female columnists fantasizing about him being led in a choker cradling a pig and wearing a hardhat is hilarious, it mostly makes men cringe, or want to organize an Entebbe rescue. Are Democrats so scarred by Bill Clinton that they have to put tank traps around anything with testes?

Republicans may not have the archetype nailed, but at least “man”isn’t a bad word over there.

That is pretty alpha for a guy most people consider a cuck or a homo.

All of this insanity makes perfect sense when you realize that Democrats view someone as being masculine when they chop off their dicks.

If SHTF who do you think a woman would want protecting them?

Walz, the Kelce bros, Doug and the Paralympic athlete or a bunch to "toxic" baws from Texas, LA, AL, etc

Lana Del Ray went feral for the toxic masculinity of a poor alligator hunter

That's beyond my ability to grasp. Being a soft, wimpy, cuck isn't appealing.
Not to men and definitely not to women. Not any woman worth having anyway.

I’m glad they’re doing it though. Kamala by pretty much every poll is more off putting to men than Trump is to women. And if you ask a mother whether they’d want their son to grow up to be Tim Walz and Doug Emhoff or JD Vance, they’re going to go with Vance 9 out of 10 times.
