Apparently before the mass layoffs, he’d give an order to do something and they just ignored him.

Jeff Bezos rued his investment in The Washington Post, reportedly calling it the worst one he made, according to a book that is yet to be released. Written by New York Times writers Jonathan Swan and Maggie Haberman, Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump reveals that Bezos expressed his unhappiness with the WaPo staff, according to the California Post. The outlet reviewed an excerpt from the book that will be released on June 23. "The people there are terrible. They don’t listen. My other companies, they listen," Bezos was heard complaining to Donald Trump at a dinner in December 2024.

That's how you figure out who to fire.

Management 101.

Management: "Hey, we're going to make some difficult adjustments. We're going to ask you to do things you're uncomfortable with."

Commie worker: "We don't have to do anything you say, oppressor."

Management: "So, as we were saying to your coworker who is no longer employed here, we're going to ask you to do things you're uncomfortable with."

Of course they don't listen. They take their marching orders from the CIA, not him.

I could have told him that years ago.

His best bet is to just shut it down completely and sell off the assets. Yeah he fired a few people but hundreds are still there who are all still Marxist. If you fired everyone you’d be left with no staff, not even a janitor.

Bezos should have known from the start a house cleaning was needed. Why keep the same staff that was driving it into the ground? Hey, former captain of the Titanic, we know you screwed up your last ship, here is another one.

It would be interesting if he did this. I would expect the staff to form some new entity and try to keep doing what they have been doing. They will fail and will likely discover along the way is that the Washington Post brand actually had value, their personal 'brands' don't, and they'll realize they have no actual audience.

Sounds like a leadership problem, not a subordinate problem

Your post was last month.

Everyone knew it was a bad investment in May of 2026. When I clicked your link I thought it was going to be a post from when Bezos bought it.

Should I add a link to my post yesterday in which I said that the Iran war would not end well?
