Why? I can't see JD Vance being that intimidating to Democrats. Do you have examples on why they would not want JD in Trump's place?

I don’t think JD is a hardcore Neocon that wants to send us to war. I may be wrong about that, but he’s definitely less likely than Rubio and Burgham.

He has the sharpest mind of anyone on the Liberty Caucus side of the party IMO.

He is just unproved and has the Soros scholar thing hanging around his neck right now.

I’m also afraid Vivek may just be an online thing and he can come across as bit of an a-hole sometimes. We already got one running so we don’t need two.

Vance is smart and is probably more in touch with the NatCon/so called project 2025/Christian Nationalist communities more than Trump or most others in Trump's orbit. I think he understands them and understands the potential use of them too.

I'm not saying dems fear him, and I'm not even saying Vance is a true believer (don't think he is), but he's got the pulse of the "radical right" more than most others in MAGA.

He's basically what Mike Pence wishes he was actually intelligent and savvy enough to be.

Is it true this time? There’s been like 20 thread claiming “X is the VP” the last few weeks

There isn't a thing about this anywhere but TD. It may very well be true but if OP actually knows this and isn't just guessing then he may be Trump himself.

JD Vance has surged up to .50 on PredictIt but anc the OP is basing his statement on the fact that Don Jr is speaking before JD Vance at the convention.

It's specious at best and doubtful that Don Jr would introduce the VP.

ANC should be ashamed of himself. Very poor form to title the post this way.

Reports are Don Jr will announce the VP at the convention.

Why would anyone other than Trump himself make that announcement?

Not trustworthy. Vance sure changed his tune quickly.

So did Trump, on so many people.

I think the left and the media need to be confronted in the realm of public discourse and he was prepared to do that directly and succinctly.

I’m firmly in the “make them fear the VP more than Trump” camp so I view that as a feature rather than a bug, but I do suspect that his tone would change going from a GOP primary to the general election.

Vance should spend the next 4 months in PA, MI, and WI and nowhere else.

Did Don Jr introduce Mike Pounce?

Seems like Big Orange would introduce his own VP.

Zoom out: Vance — a Trump critic-turned-loyalist — is viewed within the GOP as having a talent for articulating the "why" behind Trump's isolationist America First movement, and his ability to connect personally with working-class voters.

If this reason is true, it reflects well on the orange man. Apparently he’s not so arrogant to be in denial of his weakness.

His inability to articulate the why is why he did not earn my vote during his first primary.

Neither Obama, McCain, or Biden had the leadership skills to recognize the need for their #2 to compensate for their weaknesses. Trump seems to be doing that for each of his 2 terms.
