Speaking of cruelty, another question for you. The Catholic church now refuses to baptize the children of parents that aren't "good" Catholics. "Good" is about attending church, for sure, but it also involves financial support of the parish. If Catholics truly believe that baptism is the key that gets you to heaven, a) why isn't the church baptizing every baby it can get its hands on, and b) why would the church hold the shortcomings of parents against a child?

I’m not Catholic so

Okay, so you really believe there are loads of people in hell for eternity because they never had the opportunity to know Jesus Christ/his church. That's pretty wild IMO.

As a Christian I believe what the Bible says. If that makes me “wild” I guess so be it

Romans 1

quote:

18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse

Psalm 19

quote:

1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. 2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. 3 They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. 4 Yet their voice[b] goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.

If you can cite scripture otherwise then I’m happy to hear

I bet they prayed straight to the heavens all those millenia ago. I won't judge them.

If you can type out your own words explaining how it makes sense that some millions of people that never heard/read the word "Jesus" are spending eternity in hell because they never accepted Jesus as their savior, then I'm happy to debate the point. The walls of scripture come across like deflection, or perhaps I'm not even reading your posts correctly and you don't believe what I think you do.

You know it is killing progressives not to be able to call Vance a racist due to his marriage. I have no doubt the demons will do it anyway while degrading his wife.
Thomas Jefferson had slaves and african american children you can be two things at the same time.

I’ll make it quite simple.

I am a Christian.

Thus I follow what Christ and the Bible says.

In the words of Jesus himself he says that the only way to be saved is through him.

In the words of Paul you must declare Jesus is Lord.

Additionally throughout the Bible from the Old Testament to the New Testament it echoes that human beings are bombarded with knowledge of Yahweh from the world around them.

What I’m saying is as a Christian it doesn’t matter what I “think” or what I “feel”

It matters what the Bible says.

You question the faith of a man who converted to Catholicism only to bash Catholicism every chance he gets?!

I'm not fully on board with the premise of your thread, but healthy skepticism of Vance is warranted. He has A LOT of markings of a grifter.

If you’re a Christian you should be concerned about your wife being on a straight shot to hell by being a Hindu.

Lord, the junk these public servants (like JD Vance and President Trump) and their spouses are subjected to. They sure have thick skin.

To be honest, I'm appalled at the stuff Michelle Obama has been subjected too and I'm definitely not a Barook Obama fan. Throw mud at JD Vance and Donald Trump to your hearts content........but please leave their spouses out of it.

I mean can we please maintain some sense of civility here? After all the children are watching.

Fair enough?

Is it fair to suggest that you follow your (or someone's) interpretation of the Bible?

Because I go back to my question. You can dance around it with all sorts of scripture, but can you make any sense of it, as a Christian, that the Good Lord would banish to an eternity of hell some 8 yo kid born to some unheard of tribe in some remote part of earth because he didn't do as prescribed in verses you cite from a Bible he's never seen?

Back to the interpretation thing, and maybe this is the point you're beating around the bush to get to - can't "In the words of Jesus himself he says that the only way to be saved is through him" be interpreted in a way that those never within earshot/eyesight of the Word, can be saved through him, just differently than you?

I think that is none of my goddamned business, nor is it yours. The question is how that relationship would affect the elected official's governance.

The differences are... Michelle Obama directly involved herself in her husband's political office and agenda etc... She has also made many ignorant comments publicly regarding race/racism and patriotism, pride in country etc. Melania doesn't speak publicly much, do interviews, publish books etc., and keeps to herself, yet she still gets shite on constantly... because OMB's wife.

Oh... and Michael Obama is a tranny... unlike Melania.

Funny how the “conservatives” on this board bitch and moan when someone suggests actually conserving something, right?

JD clearly doesn’t care about his wife’s spot in eternity or doesn’t have the balls to confront her about it. He’s a bitch.
