Had Kimmel said "I think the Right is goin overboard in their anger." That's an opinion. What he said was an outright lie in face of already established facts.

That's not a lie. He's not even saying that the murderer was maga. He's just talking about the overreaction from Trump supporters.
To be fair, I don't care for any of those late night talk shows or their hosts. I haven't found any of them particularly funny or interesting since Letterman in the 80s.

But I don't pretend to know anything about Kirk. I'm against murder of all kinds. I can't defend him except to say that no one deserves to be murdered.
