WE blockaded the whole gulf. Iran wasn't in control of shite. Trump starved them into submission.

Jeez man. No one needs them. We starved them and now now they will be a beach resort destination if they behave.

“Even if you occasionally get something right, nobody will give you credit.”
That’s a surprisingly elaborate way of admitting I might be right.

The closure of the SOH was the strategic turn of the war.
If you argue WE closed it, you're arguing WE thwarted our ability to win the war.
It doesn't make any sense, and that's before we get into the deal Iran got

We're supposed to believe the Gulf States can contain Iran, and Iran was about to collapse, yet they still got such an amazing deal.

We won. We don't need the SOH anymore. You are not seeing the big picture.

I watched it live. That is selective editing.
Again...take a deep breath and wrap your mind around the big picture.
Iran has been defanged. The world doesn't need the SOH.

Wow that edited clip is getting around. Boosie just did a thread troll with it.

They gave up nothing and gained a TON. Why would the US give them all of that if they were in the position you keep trying to create? Why would we lift sanctions? Why would we even negotiate? It seems like we could just sit back and hope for the regime change you think is coming. We weren't expending lots of military resources and we supposedly controlled the SOH, so there is no reason why we couldn't just quarantine Iran until we got "unconditional surrender".
I don’t believe Trump has the stomach to do what it would take to have an actual regime change in a country like Iran. I don’t think he has the same level of commitment as a Truman in japan or a FDR with dresden or Eisenhower in germany
The cynic in me feels like Trump is angling towards the Nobel peace prize, and he knows that there’s no way that he can win that with the blood of hundreds of thousands of Iranian citizens on his hands.
So he has done enough to bring them to the brink of total collapse, and what will happen inside their country over the next two years is on them.
A major factor to consider with modern day Iran is the IRGC are not really Persians. And if you look at the flag of Iran under the Ayatollah there is Arabic wording and symbols on their flag. Iran is a country held hostage by religion
Consequently, these people in control are beyond 1940s Japanese style Fanatics. They are not connected to the actual country that they are leading down the path of destruction. They are power first, religion second.
I think Trump has reached the point where he feels like he has done enough to mitigate their overall reach and influence but he is not willing to take the next step to eliminate their leadership completely.
I think the Israelis will probably be the ones to fill that gap over the next year or two. And foment a Iranian civil war.
The suffering of the Iranian people probably has another 5 to 10 years to go.

Yes!
If you watched all of the press conference and the sitdown, he explained it all more than once.
Their little tool (the SOH) they used to hold the world hostage is over. I know a few oil traders that are pissed right now.
The whole thing has shifted.

Thanks for sharing! Makes alot of sense. As I have told countless people, President Trump is no fool when it comes to negotiating. He thinks three or four moves ahead.

Let's go back to April, shall we?
Apparently we won on 4/17/2026... who knew?
Of course 2 weeks later...
But yeah, we definately don't need the SOH opened.... not important anymore.

It may be BS, but I heard a Brazilian journalist say he was shown some information about what is supposed to happen in a couple of months with energy supply, freaked out, and that drove him to the deal. Because, why would he take a deal that Iran wanted two months ago?

This is all but clear, at this point.
The problem with this is it means that people have to admit Iran's SOH strategy was effective, and the "No the US controlled the strait" narrative is foolish.
China put in a lot of work to keep oil somewhat stable, but they couldn't keep that up in perpetuity.
Just wait until the refugee crisis down the road due to food insecurity from the disruption in fertilizer allocation globally.
