Nice find. 55 blood clot events among pro athletes (avg age 29) from ‘99–‘16, so the fact that young athletes get blood clots isn’t evidence that something new started after 2020.
Okay, I went to 88's short list of the 55 and picked Anderson Varajo because I remember when it happened. Turns out his clot was a post-surgery thing, so it's really not the same as what some suspect about vaxx-related clotting.
I'm not sure 55 is relevant here.

I think that’s the right way to think about it, to ask if comparable events become more common and we’d need to use the same criteria for cases before and after 2020 to answer that.
The researchers actually broke down risk factors among the 55 cases. 3 were reported as postsurgical and another 4 followed injury or trauma, 10 had a personal/family clotting disorder, and 5 had previous clots without a known disorder. The rest (33 cases) had no specific risk factor reported, although that doesn’t necessarily mean they were unprovoked, so the 55 establish that clots were occurring in young professional athletes before COVID, but they don’t tell us whether the rate of unexplained clots has changed.

That they’re happening more often now is a different question and we’d need comparable rates before vs. after for that, not just a list of memorable cases.
Does anyone have evidence that the rate has actually increased?
Impossible math. Too much overlap between individuals who contracted Covid naturally and those who were vaccinated against it. Too often we blame injury on the vaccination while ignoring the virus.

A classic. There were several who were "just asking questions", but MoT was the one who really went in fully.

Reading a KCT post is like a never ending boomer Facebook chain mail message.

Yeah, no he wasn't. He set mandates that Trump never did. He scoffed at the idea it could be made, then ridiculed the idea of ever even USING the treatment but once he was in office, literally tried to claim it wasn't available until he became President.
As big a lie as when Joe claimed Trump calling Nazis 'very fine people' was what made him decide to run in 2020. Complete and utter bilgsnipe.
Don't ever try to spin what Biden did was anything like Trump.

What does any of that have to do with safe, effective, and free?

You're right that it would be challenging to distinguish those, but before that you'd want to see that rates for thrombotic events in healthy people went up at all generally (regardless of cause which also btw could be because of something completely unrelated to COVID/vaccine). That would really be the next step for an epidemiologist before they'd try to figure out cause.

ah yes .Now we blame every mishap on the vaccine

Hey, look. Emmanuel Lewis, little Webster, has entered the discussion.
Yes, y'all are the stupid ones. Not only was it not a vaccine because it didn't keep people from getting Covid. It has also caused tons of blood clots as well as myocarditis and other problems.
Yes, genius, y'all are the dumb one's.

Because it was NONE of those and Biden was the one who made it a mandate where as Trump didn't. Biden pushed it to intimidate Americans when Trump simply told us to get it if we felt we needed to.

My bad. He said it was safe and effective. He didn't say it was free. Excuse the confusion.
