It's racist to make you pay for what you use.

Didn’t Siemens rip the city off on a contract to install electronic meters that wouldn’t require site visits to read the meters? Didn’t they just bungle the whole thing? I support criticism of government when due, and it is clearly due here, but you also gotta think about the vulture contractors that prey on government.

They got a huge settlement from that and promptly spent the money on not fixing the problem. They spent it on other things.

The city insisted on minority owned sub-contractors get much of the labor work and Siemens had to comply. I'm sure Siemens had qualified sub-contractors that do much of their work. Affirmative action will kill you every time.

Chokwe Lumumba advocated for a new African republic in Jackson.

Can we just send extraction missions to peacefully remove law abiding, taxpaying citizens from Jax, and then wall it in and let them have it?

Prediction time:

Upvote if you think the 56% will be forced to pay for the 44%'s bills

Downvote if you think the 44% will be forced to pay for their own bills

City employees are getting paid to run the water utility without knowing what the frick they are doing or spending money on the proper things.

IIRC, the month long water contamination issue in Jackson was because the people were incompetent and they didn’t have the chemicals needed to fix the issue because they blew the money elsewhere.

It’s like Venezuela running an oil company.

Just a simple man’s question. How could so few people be such a burden?

Putting aside what this means, ironic term is ironic.

At least I think that is irony, is nothing proper about Jackson.

I’m surprised that Jackson had books listing the debt.

Usually there’s nothing to audit.

There's a solution for that. Just like there is for your electricity bill, phone bill, etc.

They just choose not to use the built-in solution.

We got dysentery and a fever,

Drinkin' from a water spout,

We've been talkin' 'bout Jackson,

Ever since the whites moved out...
