Right seat or left? Couldn't one be replaced with AI?
The technology is there to get rid of pilots all together. Luckily the airlines have billions invested in airplanes that require pilots to fly. Not to mention the unions that will fight it and the slow moving federal regulatory bodies that would have to get on board with pilotless airplanes

Jack dorsey co-founded bluesky-screamers. Interesting

While AI affects this, these tech companies have been fat and over staffed for a long time
These are very interesting times. Even the new technology is called "artificial intelligence" and everyone is falling for it.
I was hunting the other day and the turkeys were laughing at me.

Why does he refuse to use capital letters?

He could be an anti-capitalist.

And yet Wall Street still rewards companies big time for slashing 40% of their jobs
And why wouldn’t it? If a company can cut costs without lowering production it should be rewarded by Wall Street, which after all is you and me and our 401Ks.

Eventually somebody has to buy the goods and services these companies make. If nobody has a job...
Of course at the end of the game there won't be a need for customers, just robot servants for the elite while everybody else starves. But before we get that far the peasants will revolt and burn it all down.

I keep hearing this and I can't help but wonder how the entire government and economy won't collapse if this is true. Most of the tax base are white collar jobs that pay somewhere in the six figures, and the federal government takes about 40% of their income. What these people have leftover pays for most of the housing stock, vehicles, school tuitions, and various other valuable discretionary goods.
So the end result is that the federal government will run out of money to operate as the tax base disappears, and most meaningful sales of valuable goods will cease.

saving companies money that will then have no money because no one has money to buy their products. The ultimate short sided end game for society!

So, are we really going to go full steam ahead with AI with zero regulation or plan on how to handle millions of people losing their jobs and homes? If we reach Great Depression levels of employment, ands it’s likely to be higher, then there’s going to be mass civil unrest at some point. At the bare minimum, we need to be having a serious public discourse involving the federal government on how to respond. Robust unemployment, job training assistance, education assistance, etc is gonna have to happen at a bare minimum.

The severance is quite healthy.
The severance seems pretty standard for the industry. I’ve seen a lot of 16 weeks + 2 weeks for every year and 6 months of healthcare.

If you have a job and you are not rich, you have a problem. You all will be replaced within five years. It would be smart to read up on what actually is happening.

So he’s doing pretty much what Elon did when he took over at X?
Interesting.
Interesting.

So he is asking the rest to continue to build with to what? Eventually have AI take over and put all his employees out of the job? What is the point of all this? Replace human workforce with AI and make people dependant on it? This is going to be a very bad future if we allow this to continue.

Which is why “the elites” will not let it go so far. They will tax the companies employing robots and AI, and they will distribute a UBI to everyone. And everyone will be extremely prosperous relative to what they are now without working - and they’ll keep complaining.
