If you are not a satan devotee why is that X post even interesting other than Tate as a Christian to Muslim convert using the phrase "Christ is King"?

And if your contention is that satan devotees are not the only ones offended by "Christ is King", then what is another example? Jordan Peterson? I guess he's really offended by the term especially when his twitter rivals use it.

Yeah. No. Too funny though. Not surprised you didn’t get it.

Nah. People used the term “King” because that’s what they understood back then. Religion has always accommodated itself to the culture it was trying to conquer. That’s why we have Christmas around the solstice.

The relationship between people and God is very different from that between a king and his subjects. But that’s the closest thing folks knew centuries ago.

I'm an atheist. If I start running around shouting Christ is king to Muslims and Jews just to stir up Christians to create religious friction would that be the proper use of such a phrase?

The "Satan devotee" has no relevance to the discussion.

Do you think a Muslim can sincerely believe that Christ is, in fact, King?

I got your point with your rhetorical question.

Is that what's happening here? Are online people using the terms Christ is King to pick a fight with non-Christians?

That's why I asked for examples.

JP is acting like this is a social media contagion.

Probably end up looking silly trying to push back on Peterson. The man is brilliant.

Not really. He's full of shite on a lot of stuff, but just sounds like he knows what he's talking about and presents it well. He knows just enough to sound knowledgeable to the average person, but he's not what many people think he is.

Candace Owens, during a twitter spat with Shapiro, tweeted out a message simply saying "Christ is King". It wasn't relevant to the discussion. There was no other context. What else could that be? An honest, good willed attempt to get Shapiro to convert?

From that X post alone it looks like Tate likes the fact that some Christians are proudly proclaiming Christ is King and he is encouraged by it.

He says what he means in the first sentence of the X posts"

"It warms my heart to see the resurgence of spirited Christian declarations."

Which makes sense as a person that grew up in the Christian faith tradition.

Peterson should stay out of the religious arena and stay in his wheelhouse.

Either that or have poor comprehension abilities.

Yeah, I'm missing what Hannity was supposed to push back on, or what we're supposed to be outraged about. The conversation was about "assassination culture" on the left.

Peterson referenced his paper that cites how bad actors on the left and right prey on the sensibilities of their audience by appearing virtuous. That seems like a plausible argument, but I haven't read his report. I'd be curious if anyone else here has.

I know about the twitter fight and if I knew of any details I forgot about them. But I can see how Ben is offended by Jesus as King because his religion does not think too highly of Jesus whereas Candace worships Jesus.
