There is something warped about thinking that "Christ is King" can be a pejorative.

Why? The discussion is on man mis-using the phrase. Anything can be used improperly to influence flawed humans.

Then call out THE man.

When you call out a common phrase that has been used for thousands of years in a general sense you come off as someone trying to censor speech and painting the phrase as a pejorative so some gullible people will appeal to their inner politeness and will discontinue using the term "Christ is King" in social circles.

I dont know much about Peterson so I might be missing some history, but what is the problem here?
I think there are bad actors that try to manipulate Christians, in fact - I think that is obvious. The best ones are hard to spot.

With Peterson and this subject you are witnessing a manipulation in real time.

Why would Tate invoke Jesus to be an antisemite? Isn't being Muslim enough?

He is not invoking Jesus, saying Christ is king is not invoking Jesus. Saying Christ Jesus is King. or Jesus it the Christ and King is invoking Jesus.

This is the point Peterson is eluding to IMO.

As far as Tate goes. He's not a Christian or follower of any God insofar as I can tell by his teachings and rants. He promotes self and sells fake masculinity to beta males who lack confidence.

Peterson is such a pretententious douche. He loves to use big words and ramble for 10 minutes when his entire point can be summed up in a sentence. He's one of those "intellectuals" that Sowell writes about.

Peterson became famous for refusing to use pronouns, but now he wants to tell others what they can say. He bought into his own internet hype, and now wants to be a gatekeeper. He's a tool.

Okay, so there is some history here. For that reason I will bow out. I know next to nothing about this guy.

That's silly, and inefficient. Aren't you an engineer? You should understand how inefficient that is.

To put it in more scientific/engineering terms, he's calling out the misapplication of a theorem/formula. Would it be be more efficient to address each engineer doing this across the world or publish a paper explaining how it's being misapplied globally? Clearly the latter.

You're correct.

Christians just have this victim complex where they have to spin everything into being the victim, even when it's calling out people manipulating other Christians in negative ways. They take a specific and targeted criticism and apply it generally because they always have to be a victim, even though they've controlled the world for centuries.

There are some things he's extremely good at explaining and arguing/debating.

His problem is that a lot of this is based off old work he did, and once he got famous he kind of did the Icarus-guru routine. He's never gone back to his roots to develop anything new to base things off of and is basically relying on tautology now.

So, to directly answer your question, he can still "be right twice a day" so to speak, which keeps him in the limelight. He also has a following from his Icarus-guru time period.

The best JP is his work before he got famous and was on Joe Rogan.

There are hundreds of examples of people appealing to religious phrases in good and bad ways.

Deus vult.
Sow a seed and reap a blessing.
The devil made me do it.
It’s against God’s design.
etc.
etc.

It's about intent.

But to drone on and on and to even write an entire paper about it, and to monetize the subject, comes off as grifty and unnecessarily starting a fight.

You ignore this and no one cares.

And another thing, in my experience it's more common to say Christ the King than Christ is King.

Narcissists don’t have a king but themselves. Saying Christ is King is simply acknowledging the supreme authority on all things with Christ, not humanity. IOW, what God says is correct, no matter what, because He is the supreme authority we all answer to.
