It's simple, if he didn't strip the officer of his taser, he would still be alive.

All I've been seeing lately is how African Americans teach their children from day one how to behave around cops, so they aren't killed. Apparently Rayshards mom forgot to tell him not to jack an officers taser. What exactly was he thinking would happen after he got the taser, especially now, everyone is on fricking edge, why not comply? He would have spent a night in county, now he's dead.

He was reaching for their weapons, shooting him at that point was justified.

Its his fault and his alone, the cop shouldn't die because the guy didn't want to be arrested.

If he gets the cuffs on him, he is booked without incident for a DUI like thousands of other people across this country of all races.

I don't think he knew what he was grabbing, and I'm certain if he had grabbed the cops gun, he would have shot both officers.

Dont drink and drive, pass out in Wendy's drive through, resist arrest, take policeman taser and point it when fleeing and he would still be alive to commit felonies in the future!

Didn't you hear, when a potential DUI criminal resists arrest, assaults cops and steals a taser... you just let him go home.

Sadly, this is true.

He shouldn't spend one second in jail, should be reinstated to the police force and should get a medal.

Very doubtful. He missed and was nearly instantaneously gunned down.

How did the partner even know he got the tazer instead of the gun?

If A causes B, then in order to prevent B, don’t do A

His children are now safer because of his death.

So i think the cops should be held to this standard

quote:

The danger to either himself or a third person must be imminent; and
He must reasonably believe that such force is necessary to prevent death or great bodily injury to self or a third person.

quote:

Imminent death or great bodily harm to yourself or another person, or
A forcible felony (e.g. sexual assault, battery, murder, robbery, arson).

The question is does this case pass the mustard. I would say they shot him in the back so there is some explaining to be done at the least as to how they thought he'd continue to be a threat as he ran away from them.

Weird how you're happy about someone being unjustly charged.

I guess "injustices" only go certain ways.

Those glory days are gone. In a more rural area, maybe. Those boys have their way with blacks. But even their days are numbered.

I think The question is can an officer who is trained to use a Tqser and has backup really claim he has a believe their is an imminent threat of death or great bodily harm from said taser?

There is a lot of room between letting the drunk walk home and shooting him. A lot
More than either side really wants to discuss.

I completely agree, I find what was done to George Floyd to be far more egregious.

Yeah totally agreed.
It's not a cops job to be judge jury and executioner. They need to understand that because they build a case the guy isn't even guilty of anything yet. The cops aren't capable of making that determination only a jury of the persons peers is.

If you deprive a man of his right to a trial by shooting him in the back I could see where you might get fired.

with all that said he did reach for a taser, resist arrest etc so it's not like he was an upstanding citizen. I just don't think being a piece of shite should be a death sentence or we'd have to kill most of the country.

It was far far worse. Way less of an offense, less combative, same if not more force was used.
