quote:You are STILL ignoring the cause - liberal policies. Before progressives ran cities, why was crime so much lower?
You must be in favor of the military occupying every city and town. That’s the only way the government can protect everyone from everyone else
quote:Who are these people?
The same people who want everyone to own a gun
quote:Wait, who are we talking about? I don't want mentally ill people/criminals having guns. No reasonable person does
second amendment are so scared of people owning guns
What is wrong with you?
quote:Towns and cities with LIBERAL leadership
they demand the government come to their towns and cities with guns to protect them from other guns
quote:That's the EFFECT. The cause is the liberal policies that created the mess in the first place. The military is there to counteract morons and people who support morons, like that lady in Chicago
It’s silly to believe the federal government’s job is to protect you from American citizens
quote:What makes you think it will? Why didn't Trump militarize cities in his first term? He could have. Why did Trump kill a bunch of Russians in his first term? I thought he was Putin's "puppet." Why didn't Trump throw people in gay/tranny concentration camps in his first term? I thought he was persecuting them.
ridiculing me for not trusting that it won’t happen again
quote:Why didn't Trump declare himself dictator in his first term? He could have
The federal government has no business using the military to police Americans

quote:What's this "taking over" bullcrap? Has Trump deposed or usurped the leadership of D.C.? No. All of the dumb leaders who created this mess are still in office even though Trump could easily have them ousted.
Why would the government not send that to a city it’s taking over if they sent that to a city it wasn’t explicitly trying to take over?
What are you talking about?

This stupid funt would be happy if those very same National Guard members rescued her dumb arse.
Plenty worked Katrina I guess that should have never happened.
Whore would be terrified.

You are a piece of work you are. Mental illness in the military? What a stretch. The mental illness in this country is coming from people like you.

Or New Orleans during MG in the last few years? Walking around town next to military carrying machine guns and literal tanks is unsettling. Living under what looks like military occupation should feel uncomfortable.
I’ve been around armed military A LOT in my life. I feel safer walking around them than I do a lot of people in NYC, Boston, Chicago, and SF (places I’ve been in the last 5 years.) I don’t think 95% of those people mean any harm in those places but I feel safer walking by an armed national guardsman than I do a dude tweaking on Broadway

I would bet money you live in a pasty white suburb. Freaking long term idiot.

I have pictures from MG and the Super Bowl of the NG (or whatever part of the military they sent) holding machine guns and manning tanks.
Let’s fricking see them.

No, I'm in favor of mayors and police chiefs and prosecutors in cities in America handling their business and not tolerating this degree of lawlessness.
But they won't. So now what?
Just tolerate it? Is that really your solution?
quote:
That’s the only way the government can protect everyone from everyone else.
No one (but you) said anything about 100% protection. I'm talking about a reasonable degree of safety, like you see in other major cities in the western world.
Or like you saw in New York when Giuliani was the mayor. And before he took over NYC was as bad as any place in America has ever been. In modernity, anyway.
quote:
I really didn’t foresee that I would be the only person in favor of liberty over government control.
No matter how often you repeat this it's not going to gain traction, and the fact that you think it will shows that you do not understand the small government conservative mindset, you're just parroting it because it's convenient for you to do so.
Small government conservative thought has always—as far as I know, without a single notable exception—believed that enforcing laws is one of the few legitimate functions of government.
SGCT would say that school lunch programs are not. Telling an employer who he has to hire or how much he has to pay him is not. Handing out welfare benefits is not. Social engineering is not. Interfering in the free market is not.
In fact, protecting property rights, maintaining national security, enforcing laws and guaranteeing liberties is pretty much all traditional small government conservative thought WOULD say is a legitimate function of government.
What you keep repeating over and over again is the equivalent of, "I'm surprised I'm the only one who recognizes the married bachelor here."
And btw, what liberty is being infringed upon here? What are these citizens having to give up, other than seeing a very strong law enforcement presence?
quote:
You got this from me saying I don’t want to live alongside military police?
I explained it clearly. I can't make you comprehend it.
quote:
It’s silly to believe the federal government’s job is to protect you from American citizens.
Then I guess the next thing that needs to be cut from the alphabet soup agencies is the FBI. Then the CISA. Then the SEC. Then the EPA. Then OSHA. Then the CDC. Etc., etc.
All of those agencies and many more exist to protect American citizens from the actions of other American citizens.
You know, for some reason I thought you were against cutting all these agencies, but maybe I'm wrong and you really have been born again conservative.
GO DOGE! !! Amaright? Amaright?
quote:
You acknowledge the government has used the military to kill Americans before but are ridiculing me for not trusting that it won’t happen again.
Sure, in the same way that I would ridicule someone for still being scared to take a Tylenol because there were a small handful of deaths (what, like 5 or so...roughly equivalent to Kent State) caused by someone poisoning some bottles back in 1982.
Yeah, absolutely. Why wouldn't I think that was an unreasonable fear?

If Democrats could control themselves in society, it wouldn't be necessary.

I had a cookout and then bar drinks with a group tonight. The husband of one of my wife’s friends said he thinks it’s a trial run to see how to subdue a city should Vance lose in 2028
Mind you, we had what I presume was a Venezuelan child (and if not, some other migrant nation) try and sell us trinkets at our patio table. Could not have been older than 8. There were two of them working all the tables while their mom (I hope at least) was sitting back smoking cigarettes. I pray the national guard comes and cleans up this shithole. Chicago is infested.
I cannot fricking wait to move back out of here. It’s starting to look like it might be longer than I thought, my work rejected my ask to go full remote (wanted to move to Charleston, we don’t have an office there). Ive had my fill of major city living for a lifetime between this and DC.

If liberals were not so violent these measures would not be needed now…
Before you come back crying, wait there’s more…
Many on the left will see how successful these city cleanups on crime are going to be with enforcing the law with the help of the national Guard like we are seeing now in DC are even more people will leave the Democratic Plantation…
Have a nice day…

WHAT???? Lol. Hell yeah I feel safer seeing military walking around carrying weapons during Mardi Gras or any large event.
Why wouldn't I??
More than anything, it's a deterrent. The military presence isn't there during normal
everyday life.
You have that progressive brain worm!
