This is why on the other thread I said that we do live in a patriarchy and there is no other choice, and this is why. If the mere sight of a gun is so upsetting to you that you'd rather leave innocent people vulnerable than send a strong visual message that crime won't be tolerated, you're making that point for me.
You're basically admitting—unless you'd like to stipulate that yours is a fringe opinion among women—that women cannot provide the necessary force to back up the institutions and laws that stabilize society. Apparently not even emotionally, let alone physically.
The longer this goes on and the less crime there is there in D.C., the sillier your position is going to look.
And no offense, but the conclusions you're coming to here are about on par with my dog.
We rescue our pets and I don't know what happened to our current dog before we got her, but whatever it was it wasn't good. She is terrified of a spoon. Someone obviously hit her with one when she was a puppy.
But instead of her saying to herself, "That's just Wacka, he's never harmed me or hit me, I have nothing to fear from him; the fact that he's holding one of those little bowls with a long handle is of no consequence." Instead of that, she just sees a spoon and doesn't consider who is holding it and she cowers.
Simple Pavlovian association, that's as far as the thought process goes.

You must be in favor of the military occupying every city and town. That’s the only way the government can protect everyone from everyone else. I really didn’t foresee that I would be the only person in favor of libery over government control.
The same people who want everyone to own a gun because second amendment are so scared of people owning guns that they demand the government come to their towns and cities with guns to protect them from other guns.

I have pictures from MG and the Super Bowl of the NG (or whatever part of the military they sent) holding machine guns and manning tanks.
Why would the government not send that to a city it’s taking over if they sent that to a city it wasn’t explicitly trying to take over?
