It's not being absent from church, it's more like turning away from God.

I only go to church as much Donald Trump does. It is a waste of our time

Just "you're forgiven" to anyone who needed it.
no, they had to want to be forgiven, and most people wanted physical healing because they thought their suffering was because of some sin or their ancestors’ sins - Jesus threw in the forgiveness of sins to show He was God

Then religious authorities killed him for destroying their business model.
no, the Jewish religious authorities believed only God could forgive sins - and they did not believe Jesus was God. Jesus was not the God they wanted.
quote:

Then the church spent 2000 years insisting he had to die for forgiveness to work.
Jesus died so we can get to Heaven. He sacrificed Himself because God wanted a sacrifice to atone for our sins.

Where did EKO learn this? He’s totally wrong about how it all went down.

What are you talking about? Those of a genuine human bloodline do not need to be told right from wrong. We just know it.

If you only know not to kill someone you disagree with because your pastor told you so; you're not of a genuine bloodline.

Morality, integrity, righteousness is talk in the home and church. Today many have no church experiences or healthy home life… Now progressive Jewish values are being spread as the norm - media, Hollywood, etc,

Church doesn't teach you right from wrong.
Your parents should do that
Church is place where you rejoice the Lord and Savior with people who are rejoicing as well.
Charlie Kirk was IMO was a true Christian.
He didn't just talk the talk but he walked the walk as well.

I've seen folks in church cuss soon as they step out the door.

I think lower church attendance was a part of it. But then in response too many churches began to secularize over time to get people back. Of course, that defeats the purpose. So you either had non-church goers or church goers who had their secular desires confirmed by the church.

This is how it has been for quite some time. Look at the Southern Baptist Church’s founding over the issue of slavery hundreds of years ago

I don’t need to go to church to know right from wrong. Nobody should and that’s the problem. My parents taught me right from wrong when I was four years old. This is basic stuff.

Not to derail this thread, but morality in atheism is subjective by definition

Funny enough as an atheist, the majority of my morals align with Christian values due to my upbringing. But you’re right, it is subjective, and there are terrible atheist out there as there are Christians which I’m sure we can all agree on.

. So the problem isn't just people not attending church. We need pastors who will preach God's word.

I agree. A few days ago in here, I mentioned it was not mental illness, but moral depravity. I stand by that.

The problem is you have no standing to call either one “terrible”

Wonder how native Americans, or Mormons, or zaoists, taoists, Buddhists, or others could possible have morals without the Bible?
Quite perplexing.

Actually not. We are created in the Image of God ((Imago Dei), and though separated by sin from God, still have His Image, though distorted, in us.

We need to go back to church but this nation, indeed the Western world, needs to return to Jesus Christ, the Savior of all.

Christianity obviously doesn't have a monopoly on morality. Some people who claim to be Christians are some of the most immoral people I've ever met.

Religion doesn't guarantee morals.

Also consider that some of the greediest people you will ever meet are often very broke and poor.

Fake virtuosity doesn't guarantee morals either.

Something to think about.

Personally I walked away from the church when the guy behind the pulpit started telling me how I should vote.

Converted to Catholism a couple of years ago and I am a lot happier. They don't get into all that at all.

What is objective morality? You seem to be insinuating that there is a baseline of moral understanding across all humanity.

Let me ask, how objective was Robinson’s morality? What about the others celebrating Kirk’s death?

Human morality is based in something, and that thing is subjective. The only objective morality is from God. Humans are incapable of objective morality.
