In all honesty, there needs to be a mechanism by which the public can sign onto and submit national referendums that are binding upon our 'leaders'. The representative government doesn't work when all of the politicians work to embue themselves with special privileges.
Term limits are a perfect example. They will never impose this on themselves voluntarily. If given the option to vote on a national referendum to limit terms, it would overwhelmingly pass.
Recalling a sitting senator that the vast majority of the state hates because he votes against the interest of his/her is beyond our reach. This needs to change. Louisiana should not have had to suffer through five years of that shitbag as senator with no way to do anything about it except wait him out.

There is currently a mechanism working its way around the country to call for a Convention of the States. I believe it only lacks about 4 states for passage. Once passed, the US States call a Convention and make changes.

THIS is what I wanted her to come out and say. I wanted her to say it publicly and loud and proud.
Maybe she did on some radio show – but I never heard it. And I think it was extremely important for her to do so as many times as she could so that everybody in Louisiana could hear it.
She never did. And this is why a lot of us could not vote for her and will not vote for her in the republican runoff.
