My nephew's wife graduated from college today and I went to a little reception for her and afterwards had dinner with my sister (nephew's mother--nephew and wife had friends with a pool so they ate pizza and partied in the pool while we old farts just went out for Mexican food). Afterwards we went back to her home and talked a while. Eventually we got around to politics. I'm a Trump/anyone that is anti-establishment that will take a flamethrower to Washington guy. She is a diehard Biden supporter who thinks Trump is the worst person on earth (To be fair she has always been a Democrat. She spent her teenage years protesting the Vietnam War.) I despise Biden as much as she despises Trump. We "debated" for ten or fifteen minutes. She did not change my mind one iota. I did not change her mind one iota. Eventually she started getting a headache and I could feel my blood pressure spiking which is something to avoid when you six weeks out of having a heart attack.
We switched the conversation to other subjects but you know what we did at the end of the day when I left to go back home? We hugged each other. She told me to take care of myself and I told her to take care of herself. No political armegeddan lightning bolts struck our family tree. No one was throwing anything at each other. No one was threatening to never talk to anyone ever again. No one was being blackballed from family get togethers. We let it go like grown mature adults. This isn't that hard if you don't have your priorities stuck up your arse. It's not hate speech people. It's disagreement speech. It's not the same thing, especially between siblings who have been handling it their whole lives. Both of us have 190 proof stubborness running through our veins but we are family first, political advisors second. There are a lot of people in this country that should try remembering this.

I love the Democrats in my family, but I don’t trust them when it comes to making decisions about almost anything. Love is given, trust is earned with a history of good decisions.

BOTTOM LINE SO she was in denial about trumps great policies that are pro america versus their anti america totalitarian authoritarian measures. wow.
you simply cannot debate people who are delusional and in denial of facts and policies and stats.

It's called math and economics...can't sugar coat the truth.
Reality vs what someone wants it to be
Liberalism is a mental disorder.

My problem with this is that if you are that adamant in your support for Joe Biden then you support all the things you claim to hate (pedophilia, racism, corruption, etc) and you do so unknowingly or knowingly, and I’m not sure which is worse. You’re stupid AND dangerous, and your values are completely antithetical to my own. I’d just as soon not be around you because you probably approve of men dressed like women shaking their junk in children’s faces and forcing people to get unwanted medical treatment to participate in society.

I agree with it being difficult for sure, but Ive been thinking of something lately to help lay out how far left the Democrats have moved while the Right/Repubs have stayed still regarding social issues.
Is your sister on the pro-abortion, sexualization of children, gay marriage, tranny, etc train? If so, would she have been so adamant about these things back in her teens? I'm thinking in the late 60s she would have been on the abortion train, but not the others. Ie ..what would the teen version of her thought of the social decay we are seeing and would she have supported it?
Thoughts in general if the Democrats of that time or even the 50s would have fathomed the social decay we are seeing today? I'm sure I know the answer, but just gathering some insight to strengthen my argument.

Hey, you tried to undo decades of gaslighting along with all the cultural Marxism she’s absorbed the past 40 years in one afternoon. It would take a lot of patience and sharp focused debate to move her off the twisted crap she believes in. You gave it your best.
Did you ask her if she was willing to sponsor a family of illegal immigrants for 2-3 years until they assimilate into American society?

Right now she's probably making a post on Reddit about what an evil, racist Nazi you are.

People who are basing their worldview and political beliefs on decades of Gaslight Media propaganda and cultural Marxism indoctrination hate when someone begins to shatter that person’s perceived reality, it’s frightening when you begin to wonder if all the shite you believe in is nothing more than progressive/leftist horse shite.

I’m on the same page as Paddyshack!I have no interest in associating with anyone that supports the current Democratic Party and I have purged them from my life.
Politics was Carter vs.Reagan.Carter was incompetent but he wasn’t trying to destroy the U.S.Carter wasn’t a corrupt rascist pedophile.
So she was a Democrat all her life and spent her teenage years protesting the VietNam war.Does she have any clue who got us into Viet Nam? You should educate her -it was JFK(D)got us involved and LBJ (D)greatly escalated and mismanaged it.By the time Nixon got in it was a huge clusterfrick. It could still have been won ( debatable) but by then the American people had turned against the war and had enough and it was tearing our country apart.
Nixon(R) got us out.

I'm a registered Democrat because my grandfather was a dyed in the wool Democrat. Union man. I registered Dem so I wouldn't have to lie to him when he asked me who I voted for. I just said "I'm a registered Democrat, Paw." He died a few years back and I never bothered to change it. Reminds me of him.
He couldn't stand Trump but his individual view on issues never really aligned with the Democrats. I refused to argue politics with him out of respect. He was a hard working man from a different time that I think never got into the weeds on really any policy.
I've never voted Democrat in my life, but I keep the registration to honor him.

She lives with her son and his wife. They have five kids. She probably already feels like she is sponsoring a family of illegal immigrants.

After my dad's adopted sister went apeshit on me for carrying a gun (left it in my car, didn't bring it in the house) the last time I visited her in Houston 12 years or so ago, I haven't spoken or had any contact with her.
She raised both her kids to be homos, she wouldn't attend her father's funeral when my grandpa died because it was June 2020 and she was scared of COVID, plus she bitched to my dad about us breaking COVID rules having a funeral for him in the first place... I could go on and on. She's a terrible person and I'll consider it a blessing if I never have to interact with her again.
