He may have, but many of his voters chose Hunt because their consciences wouldn't allow them to support a candidate who already broke his most important pledge (fidelity to his wife).

They will probably sit out the runoff. Paxton may still win (which means our next Senator will then be James Talarico) but it won't be as easy as he thinks.

Hopefully there will be a Libertarian candidate so I can at least cast a vote in the general election for this race (if Paxton wins the primary).

Wow. They called McConnell/Thune bluff. Guess the SAVE act IS that dangerous.

It’s very dangerous to democrats and rinos. Rinos use election fraud in primaries like just happened in a few Texas counties to prop up Cornyn/prevent Paxton from getting 50%. The evidence is all over X if you look for it. Pete Berneger has the receipts

Unfortunately for you uniparty figs Paxton has more voters that usually don’t vote than there are of you uniparty fan girls.

This is the unfortunate truth. We don't have many "good" people in government or running for government. Anyone who wants to stay "clean" at all, avoids politics and the campaign ratfricking (I've stopped cussing, using that in actual context as opposed to profanity) like the plague. Very few truly decent people want that smoke.

We end up being stuck with the choice between the evil and the lesser evil. Sometimes there isn't even a "lesser" evil. But we have to be involved and select the person who seems to be the better option. Between Cornyn and Paxton, it doesn't even seem like much of a choice. Cornyn is a RINO of the greatest magnitude.

I don't give a damn if the person is gay, straight, black, white, or polka-dotted, as long as they defend the constitution and represent their constituents. Personal issues are just that, and everyone has them.
The narrative is obviously been sent out to the masses; just look at who showed up at the same time saying the same thing.

So you think that all the voters voted for Hunt because of Paxton's infidelity. No, they voted for Hunt because Cornyn is a Democrat parading as a Republican. Hunt's voters will back Paxton. Paxton has proven that he will flight for Texans. Cornyn gets amnesia as soon as he is elected by forgetting that Texans voted for him to represent Texas. We Texans have had enough him and will vote Paxton over Cornyn and that satanic cult guy that says Jesus supports abortion.

It would be amazing to have Tillis, Cornyn, and McConnell all go down in the same cycle.

Not to mention Dan Crenshaw.

I said at the beginning of this Cornyn/Paxton drama that we as a nation would be better off with Paxton in the Senate. I support Trump fully, but not on this issue.
I understand that us common folk don't know the detailed frickery that goes on in DC, but I don't need to. What I do know is light pushes out darkness and while Paxton has issues.... I believe he will more closely stand for what America needs. IMHO
Reasonable. The truth is, if Paxton sucks as senator, we get the chance to vote him out in six years. We already know Cornyn will suck over that six year term.

The problem is the MSM will highlight as "major" issues the flaws of a GOP candidate, but not say anything at all about a RINO
So let the MSM pick our senators? Hell no.

Remember when the media didn’t attack mega-RINOs McCain and Romney? Haven them complete passes and never called them racist, sexist, bigots? Yeah, I don’t either.

I was at our precinct convention when the polls were closing (our site had both the Democrat and Republican primary locations).

There were maybe FIVE voters in the room with the GOP ballots. The Dem line was out the door and all the way to the bathrooms (at least 30 people waiting to vote).

And I'm in a county where ALL the county officials are Republican.

Talarico was going to be hard to beat as it was, but a Paxton win will guarantee a flip.

The GOPe is very comfortable with the way things are currently. It insures their power.
