I have a hard time believing Hamas can actually hold territory in Israel. Isn't Israel basically US Army lite in the hardware department? With basically the whole country being active service or veterans, once a response in mounted and the gloves come off, I imagine this will be over very swiftly and very violently.

These Hamas militants don’t appear to be standard insurgents, I’m thinking these are better trained, better funded and may even feature expats hostile to Israel providing leadership

I thought alot of the Israelis, esp in the border areas, carried arms all the time.

Today Is the Sabbath, so lots of Israelis were hanging out with their guards down. Yesterday was the Muslim prayer day. Surprised Mossad did not have some sort of idea something was up.

All these European nations that allowed hundreds of thousands of muslims flood into their homes better be watching how those migrants react during this event. This could be an even larger insurgency than currently thought.

I see this as a desperation move by Hamas.I think last week MbS or the Saudi palace said they were actively negotiating peace with Israel and expanding the Abraham Accords. That would leave Hamas totally isolated because the Arab world would have cut off Hamas totally.
