Is your life better with Trump, or was it better under Obama?

I was caught up in 2 layoffs between 2008 & 2010. My wife also lost her job in 2010. There was a 6 month stretch where we were both unemployed. We got back on our feet, but we weren’t really knocking it out of the park.

By July 2018 I had doubled my salary from 2014, and I just received a promotion last week which gave me another 20% bump.

My wife (architect) is also making more than she ever has and her firm is flush with work.

I realize not all of this is due to Trump, but I would say the great economy is at least 50% responsible.

It makes me nauseous to think that the dims are running on a platform of destroying these salad days.

Trump

I sell to doctors and we have trade shows throughout the year. 2016 sucked, everyone was worried Hillary was going to win. Once the count lost the checkbooks opened wide, and the money is still flowing.

Reagan years were the best.

Obama nearly bankrupted me. My business had been incredible under Trump.

Is it a cop out to say neither, as in my life has been exactly the same?

I work in IT, wife is an Attorney. Haven't really seen a change in any aspect of our financial life, and our jobs aren't really dependent on any social or political whims.

Life was better before both to be honest, excluding 2nd term of Bush. But I blame that mostly on Obama for putting the country on a course for disaster.

Trump by a mile. Obama made my blood pressure go up. He was a light weight propped up by media.

Same media trashes Trump, but I get to laugh my arse off as the thwarts them at every turn

Ron was the MAN. Trump is kicking arse and it is definitely much much better now. Everyone was so uncertain about what that disaster Obama was going to do next, the entire country sat on the sidelines riding his dumb arse term out. So much pent up capital came to the table after his departure, it ignited the economy. Dems are an unmitigated disaster for the economy. Amazes me how damn stupid they are, and how corrupt.

Lyndon Johnson because I was two when he took office in 1963 and seven when he left in 1969. I had not one care in the world at that time.

I'm nothing special, just a shitty business systems analyst. My income has more than doubled over the last two years because the job market is so hot my employer is terrified of me leaving.

My life is measurably, objectively better now compared to two years ago.

Zero race riots in the streets under Trump.

So by that measure, race is improved and technically we’re all safer under Trump.

My compensation has increased more the last 2 years than the last 8.

I paid less taxes last year even though I earned more than the year before.

The job market is so hot, my job security is way up so I'm able to invest more rather than sitting on the sidelines.

Bonus is being able to buy a new boat, expand and cover the patio and put all new windows in the house.

Imma say Trump.

Obamacare took money away, Trump tax cuts gave it back plus some. Other than that I don’t pay attention to the stupidity

My first annual raise and bonus after Trump’s tax reform exceed the total of all raises and bonuses from Obama’s second term. On top of that, my tax rate decreased, and the standard deduction increased.

I live in Nashville and the recovery started here about 7 years ago. It really took off around 2014 though.

I guess it really depends on where you live. Most of the country recovered around between 2013 and 2015.

Economy here hasn't changed at all since Trump took over. Nashville post recession has been a go to spot for business relocations.
