Property taxes are unconstitutional, those should be already gone. At least income taxes are legit

Yes, as long as you don't buy anything.

You do realize currently roughly 50% of the American population pays no income tax? Under a tariff system, everyone would pay it

You are my hero... if the Trump Administration is thinking this way, I would be ecstatic.

For years, I've wondered how to you 'undo' everything the Democrats and bureaucrats have done with the tax code. That 50% who don't pay [probably a loyal faction of the democrats], will burn the country down if they have to pay taxes.

But this way, it's not as noticeable, incentivizes domestic production and service... it would be interesting to see.

I'm afraid this is incorrect, as well. The necessary amount for a national retail sales tax is approximately the same part of the current cost of goods at retail that is comprised of embedded corporate income taxes. Those taxes are passed along the distribution chain from manufacturer to wholesaler to distributor to retailer and ultimately paid by the consumer.

Well yeah but in order to replace over 2.5 trillion that they get from income taxation, we’d have to implement more than what we get out of the embedded corporate taxes

The largest programs to be funded
Social security
Medicare
Military
Interest on the debt

What would you cut?

Interest on the debt

Trump has already said that it is highly unlikely that the national debt is as big as we are conditioned to believe that it is. Appropriately dealing with the federal reserve would solve that problem with a quickness.

Great, then quit with the class warfare bullshite and eliminate income taxes altogether. Don't just shift the load to people already paying more than their share.

This isn't class warfare. You can't do everything you want over night. You take steps, build a foundation.

Trump is trying to get us to that point, but conservatives keep fighting him on alternate revenue streams.

Eliminating income taxes for everybody who makes less than $200k is by definition class warfare. It's Bernie Sanders progressive bullshite.

I bet you said the same thing about Donald Trump being elected President three times, but here we are.

I'd rather property taxes be eliminated but I will take any realistic elimination of taxes at this point.

But if we're going this route, why give everyone $200k and under a free ride on income taxes but making someone who earns $300k have to fork over a portion of their income?

Because populism.

I’m just sick of paying taxes where the money is used to aid able bodied leeches on society. Those bastards would have starved to death and died before the Great Depression and FDR’s New Deal.

Nah. The middle class doesn’t pay much either. The top 10% pays 72% of all taxes.

I’d love no property tax but aren’t those managed by the states?

Are we against state rights now?

Get rid of the federal reserve and we likely wouldn’t need income tax.
