I've read several books that addressed that.

The general consensus was that more died at the hands of slave traders, on ships, than died once they reached the Colonies.

Once here, once they became "property," it wasn't just frowned upon for Christian reasons, it was frowned upon for business reasons.

Investment reasons. Production reasons.

It took a lot, something really bad, for a slave to be hanged or shot. It didn't take place as often as Hollywood tries to depict it. And it usually was recorded.

Not doubting this in the least.

During the COVID "pandemic," if someone was killed in an auto accident but had tested positive for COVID, then cause of death might be attributed to COVID. In the case of the death of a slave, if Hollywood wanted to inflate the #s, they might well count any death from flu, etc to 'killed by owner." Conversely, someone else may only count those known to have been killed by owner for cause, e.g., as punishment should one slave have murdered another.

African tribes sold members of defeated or captured rival tribes to slave traders, who then transported them to the New World. Europeans also brought many slaves to the New World. Therefore, anyone seeking reparations should first direct their claims to Africa and Europe.

Capitalizing Black and White is something that I haven’t seen before. Usually Black gets capitalized and white remains unchanged. Some see racism, while others assert their inability to be racist because of their skin color.

Either way, when it comes to sowing division based on skin color, the dems have never stopped.

Here in the Caribbean I read an interesting article regarding the trade. Ironworks in Birmingham England carried to Africa, traded for slaves and then on to the Caribbean.

These ships developed relationships with the same tribes who captured slaves, and with the same traders on the Caribbean island they frequented. As such they transferred specific "gene pools" of individuals to specific islands who then had their distinct culture.

Trinidad and Jamaica with great atheletes, music.....and very violent.
Barbados quiet and reserved.
St. Vincent and Tobago physically imposing individuals.
