I think it is based on what each institution requires.

Is it legal for a hospital to keep a sales rep out of the hospital because he refuses to be vaccinated.

Yes. And there are some high level specialized surgeons at some facilities that refuse to get vaccinated but they are too valuable to the hospital system so the hospital administrators keep it on the down low.

Feds have never dropped the SMS (Medicare) mandate despite all of the information that has come out that the jibby jabs do nothing to stop transmission. My facility seems to have quietly forgotten about it. I had a religious exemption approved.

No idea. I’m a hospital employed doc and I was never vaccinated. Filled out an exemption for along with 50% of the medical staff and they were all approved

They can probably keep you out for any reason they like if you aren’t dying.

Hmm, I wonder why 50% of the medical staff would not get the vaccine? It’s like they know something.

In May of '20 during my yearly checkup my doc, actually his nurse, asked if I had the vax. I said no. Asked again in May '21, I said no. May of '22 she did not ask the question. So, they either figured out I was a pureblood or realized the vax was mostly a scam. I will say they never pushed the issue about not being vaxxed.

There is no longer a mention of “current” vaccine status.

I assume that there will be no further mandated boosters.

The Covid money is starting to dry up for the hospitals. Some here in Houston like Methodist are still pretty rabid about asking for it and your status and masks. But they were (I think) the first to mandate it for employees. Nationally I think if not it was definitely in Texas.

Now they don’t want to look foolish. They don’t want to look like any of this was in vain.

But no hospital entity is mentioning boosters. Not as a mandate. Not here in Houston. Still probably on the books for new hires.

Sales reps? They could give 2 shits, I believe. They will just buy from someone else. Depending on what you sell. You want that commission or not?

Center for Medicare Services (CMS) still has a mandate for all healthcare facilities that participate in the Medicare program. The House passed a bill last week (along party line) to eliminate the mandate. The Senate is not expected to vote on the bill.

During the debate a GOP rep pointed out that many facilities are no longer enforcing the mandate. The D rep responded that it is saving lives. It was comical and sad to listen to the debate.

Take a look at LinkedIn.

Most healthcare positions are still discriminating against the unvaccinated.

It’s hilarious that they blurb about:
Race,
Lgbt
Language
Disability

But they still discriminate against st common sense.

They don't care if you are dying. They have refused transplants to unvaccinated people. My uncle-in-law being one of them- and he is a doctor

I’ve been working in healthcare for about 15 years now. The thing that makes me the sickest is seeing the movement toward analytics instead of quality care. Employees that are easily manipulated are better for analytics bc they don’t stand up for themselves.

Not Federal, but virtually universally mandated at hospitals and hospital-owned clinics

They really should do a cost benefit analysis. The amount of $$$ the govt shelled out for the vaccine was insane.

This has been going on. Covid has been the biggest event in my career by far. Squeaky wheel does not get the grease with healthcare. It gets replaced. There are plenty of wheels. You go along or you go somewhere else.

As a provider in whatever capacity you just have to do what you truly feel is best for your patient. Do your best to leave politics out of it.

The worm turned on healthcare. And as in so many other instances, the people and not the policy are what gets punished. Shitting on PCPs and Nurses being the worst I have ever seen. The notion that we were complicit in anything is foolish.

I will just scale this back to myself. As an RN I do not have a research level research lab in my garage that I enjoy as a hobby. We rely on research and governing bodies. The CDC, WHO, NIH, and AMA and others all give us or gave us the data points we guide our practices on. The NIH being my personal favorite. Their web content and site are dry and to the point. “Just the facts”.

These entities failed us. The main failure was in their arrogance. “Follow the science” became a joke. My belief is they handled it poorly from the start. Instead of telling people the truth. “This is all we have. This is a new situation. This is a pandemic on a scale not seen since 1918. We have more tools to fight it but no reason to say we can keep it from acting like other pandemics.” I believe a fear of spooking the herd and speaking in false absolutes, spooked the herd even more.

The notion of doing “your own research” is unrealistic. Again I do not have a research lab in my garage. No one does. And wading into the weeds of fringe websites and researchers with axes to grind was always problematic before. Many were loons. Not so much anymore.

The CDC and WHO gave them all the credibility they never thought they would get.

This all became a clown world. Imagine pilots going somewhere than the FAA/NTSB or other industries going with other bodies than OSHA for their rules and safety plans. Are these entities without their problems? No. But would you want to fly under the rule of a brand new governing body for air travel? Or work in a refinery or platform with “Bobs Safety Company” in charge.

Yes, I got a religious exemption. I argued that Covid is judgement for sin and that vaccines are an attempt to circumvent judgement. It worked and I remain a pureblood.
