Is there a solution for mass shootings going forward?

Nothing is working at the moment. How should we as country address this issue? What are some of the things that can be done/changed realistically?

The answer is obviously more guns. Duh.

Shoot back?
Invest in basic security?
Expect gun free zones to actually be gun free?

Stop turning the shooters into celebs.
Hang them.
Hang them.

Shooting back at the a-hole?

One can ask why we weren't having these tragedies 30- 40- 50 years ago. We have to look at some of the differences. The vast majority of us had 2 parents in the house. Most of us had one parent at home to raise us until 1st grade came along, so we had attention an overwhelmed daycare attendant can't give. Most of us went to church. We had community re-enforcers like the now much maligned Boy Scouts. We were taught more basics (reading, writing , arithmetic). We never heard of self-esteem courses, if anything that would have swollen our head, when we should have a dose of humility, and the need to serve the greater good. We weren't perfect, but we didn't need to be either.

The long term liberal goal of destroying the two parent Christian household has caused all the problems we are seeing like this today. Going back to focusing on raising your kids right is about the only thing that will stop it. Guns aren’t going anywhere and you can only have so many security guards

Haven't really say down and thought about it but one solution could be holding parents responsible. "I didn't know he took the guns" just doesn't fly anymore. As a parent, you are responsible for your child, especially if they are underage and under your supervision.

Sometimes thing are just that simple. Your post is spot on.
I'll add that we don't have a sense of neighbors any longer. People live next door for years and don't communicate. That sense of community is long gone as we have become too big and too rushed.
Protect the schools better and jail parents that dont lock up their guns.

This. Single parenting creates a lot of social issues.
That and kids who get bullied need to take a boxing a class, learn to throw a punch, and knock their bully on their arse. That would prevent a lot of the issues we see these days.

Stop coddling "pussies" and acting as if "bullying" is the most horrific thing.
I believe our insistence that no own is "offended" creates MUCH GREATER reaction from the offended. We are told it is horrible. So, when someone is treated "horribly" they lash out.
I'm not explaining it well. But, I think trying to live germ-free makes us weaker and when exposed to germs, we get more sick than we should.

Thoughts and prayers is working just fine.

Let the students carry guns
There are never mass shootings at inner city schools because all the kids carry guns

Couldnt resist mucking up a decent thread could you?

You know, I bet there were no school shootings in North Korea last year. I know that sounds absurd, but it demonstrates the essential tension of living in a free country. Many many more free people will make really really bad decisions in a free country . And most people are willing to take their chances with the freedom than without.

Step 1: eliminate “gun free zone” designations, which are really nothing more than “soft target” designations, inviting mayhem.
Step 2: allow teachers and other school personnel who want to be armed to do so.

That argument falls flat in the Sandy Hook shooting case. How could elementary children bully a 20 year old madman? Bullying is not the end all be all reason for mass shooting.

No, there really isn't. It boils down to shitty parenting, a lack of kids learning how to cope with reality, improper firearm storage, schools being defenseless slaughter houses, and the media covering these shooters.
Most of those touch points can't really be fixed, but we can certainly make strides to reduce this issue. The guns are out there already. We've seen that illegal firearms will still be used. The gun control debate should be put to rest and we should focus on the bits that can be improved.
The left has created a society that can no longer even cope with being rejected by a girl. Everyone is special. Bullies have and will always be around as long as there are kids.
