I recall at least some mild redpilling in the latter years.
No so much redpilling as that even his liberal arse couldn't keep up with the leftward swing of the democratic party. His meltdown when he got banned from DU for not being liberal enough was legendary.

Hopefully nothing bad happened to him.
However, he did start several threads when folks on the right would die cheering on their deaths. The sickest one that comes to mind was a gun instructor that was accidentally killed during a training session. Rex gleefully started that thread with the words "Karma Comes Around".
